Let us not assume Libby is a female. I wonder if the name is a reference to being a "Lib," a common epithet on the site, being turned around. Claims about being a MH counselor etc. can also be easily made up.

I have my suspicions on who he/she is. Perhaps one of the original Haloscan posters, who decided to stop using all caps in the posts?

Has PIC made claimes to be an MH counselor? I can't believe that. I've worked in the MH field for 20 years, and I can say that there is no way anyone with that level of rage and primitive communication skills could possibly get certified or even keep a job in the field.

Libby made that claim in a post. He/she probably would be about as bad as PIC in such a role.

DUH! I wouldn't sound so dumb if I'd just read the post.

Thanks for your gentle correction - that was very kind. Smile

I'd like to extend my personal invitation to P-I-C to join our discussions on the Public Opinion forums.

They're easy to get to, but let me just sort of spell it out, just in case.

Go to www.publicopiniononline.com

(You don't have to type in the http:// because, somehow, the computer just knows!)

Then, look at the list of links on the navigation bar to the left of the page. See those listed under "Home"? Well just go down to the bottom and there you have it: "PO Forums."

We've talked about you several times P-I-C and we really want you to make an appearance and join our discussions. We feel that your brand of, er, lets call it "communication" is intriguing and we'd like the opportunity to directly respond to your comments over the course of several days or even weeks.

See you there!

No way -- no how-- would I join the forms. I've been to the forms as a 'guest' and viewed some of the discussions. I'd be lucky to get out of there with my keyboard still intact. Thanks anyway. If you need somebody to 'PIC' on, I'll be around!

Firstly, Shame on Coppy for making it feel special.
Second, I'm willing to bet Pharisee In Chambersburg is already registered here and even if she wasn't, it still stalks the threads.

Can't we invite classy, intelligent people that disagree to the Soapbox?
Why invite the trash? Those kind will just make this place another Haloscan, that is, if they could get over their fear of having just one screen name.

Someone one on Topix made the allegation (it could have been Libby again) that PIC works for P.O. in some fashion. I didn't much pay attention , at first, but have since noticed that some of her posts coincide with times the P.O. switches its online stories.

Not that it matters, just thought it interesting.

I get bored and do things like try to match posts with writers. Lame, I know.

Back to watching Club Dread. Cool

Ugh, Club Dread... the awful follow-up to the hilarious Super Troopers. Although Coconut Pete has his moments...

I just think we need some differing opinions sometimes, but we all know it would be a bloodbath with someone as belligerent as PIC. The regular posters here are pretty intelligent in my estimation, and someone like that would get eaten alive the first time they try to argue the merits of President Bush's legacy.

So, I digress, it was worth it for me to subtly insult PIC's intelligent at least. Does that make me immature? Razz

I agree, this place is very well-mannered. I have participated in unmoderated forums where anything goes, and it gets brutal.

Which is why I'm often bemused at the defensiveness and hyper-sensitivity I sometimes see around here. Too bad we don't have more regular members than the dozen or so accounting for 98% of the posts - not much diversity in opinion, you know?

I'm also continually amazed at those who won't come here because they fear giving up an email address or having a permanent avatar, or whatever.

I don't think PIC would be pleased to be accused of being in cahoots with the PO. He's stark, raving....conservative.
