Any suggestions for a good live tree. I normally get mine next Friday after a full day of shopping. Any suggestions are welcomed! Laughing

There's a place in St. Thomas. Can't remember the name. Rt. 30 West, just before you get to E.C. Barnes. We bought many trees from them years past and they were always fresh then. (We've since gone artificial Rolling Eyes )

Me, you should try Spring Rise Horticultural Center off Ragged Edge Road (used to be Greens Etc.) Last year, they had fantastic trees - very fresh, from over in Path Valley - and at very reasonable prices.

Anonymouse, anonymous coward, armed_citizen,Bobo, Coppy, Dave, Me, Me!!!!!, Queen of Hearts, Pa Young Repbulican and any other of ya'll wonderful posters out there whom I may have forgotten (I'm sorry)...without ya'll I would've been posting by myself. Golly gee whiz. No need to be bunched. Guess I just figured a smart girl like you had read the suggestions for tree places on your LAST board.

So we can use the forum when we're too lazy to look in the phone book?

Forums are random. Threads just don't evolve and change, but they also have light-hearted moments. Otherwise, they would just sit there and we could have a lovely three post thread about buying Xmas trees next March.
Kindly get over yourself.

See, that's an example of using rude to respond to rude. It may be therapeutic, but still not nice. Can anyone think of a better way to handle these situations? Hmmm?

Try Snavely's. Their commercial suggested they were ready for Christmas with fresh greenery.

You know, one of the fun parts of message boards is that people can be expressive and sometime that means going a bit off-topic. It's not an affront to you, but if this forum was nothing but people asking where to find the best ______ fill in the blank, and then eye-rolls everyone tries to inject a little personality, it would die pretty quickly.

Just have fun; seriously, I think "your neighbor's yard" is a pretty good suggestion. Cool

Yeah, but you could have free syrup for your Christmas morning pancakes!

We always cut our own. We go to a little tree farm owned by Ray Miller in Fulton County. He lives on Evergreen Lane in Needmore. You won't find a better price and they are guarenteed fresh because you cut it yourself (although if you call ahead, Ray will cut it for you).

Does he carry the Fraizer Firs? Certain kinds of pine breaks me out in hives and I don't want that. Is he open to the public? The last time we cut a tree down it ended up being almost 50.00 for something that doesn't live Shocked and i will not do that again!

Thanks! Wink

He has mostly Douglas Firs and Concolor Firs (my favorite), although I think I saw some Scotch Pines there too. No Fraziers, as far as I know.

Ray is a forester for the Buchanan State Forest. He grows trees on his farm as a hobby, I think. Anyone can go there. I think we paid $18 last year.

We go to Heckman's tree farm. They have pre cut trees or you can choose and cut your own. They take you back into the fields in a hay wagon and they provide saws and wagons for the trees. They also have reindeer, which the kids love.
Trees are priced by the foot.
And they are in the phone book.
