[i]Oh, in that case, you're not attacking the Bush administration because......? | [/i
Because unfortunately people like you believe all the BS you are spoon fed by the Liberal media. For instance!
Take Katrina for example, everyone was all over Bush, this was his fault etc etc.
That jackass Senator Mary Landrieu wanted to "PUNCH GEORGE BUSH IN THE NOSE" and everyone thought that was absolutely appropriate. If anyone would have bothered to read the Corps of Engineers report associated with the Damns being breeched they would have actually understood what happened. The Corp reported in the 1960 when they first studied the damaged and dilapidated damns protecting New Orleans that they were thwarted in their efforts to construct/repair the damns because they could not obtain the neccessary easements/rights of way neccessary for the construction. They stated in their report, (here again, I'd like to point out, that report is on record and is accessible via the internet) That the local government, (That would be Mayor and Council) were unwilling to help get the project done! I can see how George W Bush at the age of 12 or 13 was responsible for this disaster.
Here it behooves me to also point out that if Senator Mary Landrieu wanted to punch someone in the nose it should have been her father Moon Landrieu, who at the time of the proposed improvements by the Corp of Engineers was the Mayor of New Orleans. Don't take my word for it, look it up yourself, unless you really don't want to know the truth. Did you ever see a report such as that from any of the Liberal media outlets? I didn't, but then again, I actually want to know the truth!
I can go on and on and on, and in the weeks, months and years to come, I intend to entertain all of you with the delights known as truth! _________________ I love my country, I just wish Liberals did. |

you are absolutely right that more should have been done to prevent the tragedy by investing more in infrastructure. I believe it's a major problem that people are so anti-tax they aren't willing to fund infrastructure which made the USA an economic superpower.
that being aside, Bush was in charge in 2005, and he wasn't 12 then, though sometimes he acts like it. Thus it is his fault that the response to Katrina was slow, and not nearly enough. Since the executive department is in charge of FEMA, and there was not enough National Guard in the States due to the Iraq War, citizens of New Orleans suffered and died. and that is Bush's fault. Blaming the failings of every government from the 60s on when the report was written, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush Sr, Clinton, and W Bush, is fine, you're right they all should take some blame, but that's not excuse for Bush Jr to not do enough about Katrina when it happened. |

There are so many things wrong with what you're saying I don't even know where to start. You are aware that the protection of a states citizens must start locally first, then at the State Level..........Yoy are aware of that aren't you? O.K. Obviously NO, You're not.
First understand what you're talking about then spew forth stupidity! _________________ I love my country, I just wish Liberals did. |

absolutely states and local governments need to do as much as humanly possible, but when a local and state gov't is absolutely and utterly overwhelmed the federal gov't is supposed to step in and should. This has happened countless times in the past, usually swiftly using National Guard and FEMA. Because Bush put his friend in power who was unqualified, FEMA didn't respond. Because Bush spread our military too thin through a war that should not have been waged (Iraq) the National Guard was not available. These are the root causes of the problem. To wish that Katrina would have been a problem small enough for just local and state gov'ts is a waste of time, because it wasn't a small disaster.
btw I made it this far without calling you stupid or discrediting the only idea you offered (state's responsibility) in your counterpoint like you did to me. try to see if you can post doing the same from now on, so you look like you know what you're talking about. |
