imo the only thing ann coulter could possibly cringe at is a good lay.

imo shawn v moore is just one of the new breed of pseudo conservitive agitators looking for their fifteen minutes in the local media. And like a bad penny they'll just keep turning up, just as my generation ( i am 50) had our very same kind of contributors to entertain us in this section 25 years ago before computers gave us these auto-abilities. Back then everyone just shook their heads in the living room before suppper and yapped about it at work the next day. Public opinion i think is to be applauded over time for even continuing to offer this particular section of the paper within the format it is published. Maybe they should do an All time Best and Worst of readers' opinions/in your opinion et al...

Then put it all in Here.

imho , thing is... what scares me is the people to whom mr moore is pandering probably believe every word he writes because they are as uninformed and narrow minded and ill mannered ignorant as he comes across.

it is a fact that these sort of people reproduce.

there is a need to put away the beer and people magazines, change the channel from spike to maybe the history/natgeo/bio/discovchan/etc.

...Open a mnemonic or two maybe.

Multiply that by at least 3 for every geographic area in the nation served by a newspaper and you ve got a Whole Lot Of Ignorant People Everywhere.

It is unfortunate that we have wound up as a people in a place in time where many people are Still that Ignorant , But Smart Enough To Organize and Influence.

But somehow we meek survive. I hear we get a big inheritance.

Springhill; you're forgetting that science has a liberal bias Razz

Hey, i don't know who Shawn V Moore is. I challenged him to join the PO Forums and defend his position. I welcome him to back up his allegations and outlandish accusations. But he won't because people like him (and Anne Coulter or example) are best when their conversation is one way.

Remember when Anne Coulter called John Edwards the "other f word?" It was kind of a big deal, and people really did defend her right to free speech. But seriously, can you imagine her thought process when she decided to call him that?

"Hmm, that John Edwards, I bet he's a f*****. What's that, he's married? Still, he probably still is. Four kids? Bah, it's a front. Oh, his wife is suffering through incurable breast and lung cancer? Ah, it's still a home run. I'm calling him a f**."

See, it doesn't matter.

i understand you. it still matters in the sense that double speak can be countermanded by logic, in most cases logic wins.

I think it almost always does. Ah logic; a principle I'm afraid our current administration has long foregone.

Maybe the day will come when the right will be able to look at facts objectively, and set their political loyalties to the side.

Some famous person once said that the idea that Christianity supports science is why most of the advanced societies are Christian / Judaism based.

Think of the more advanced countries and it gives you food for thought.

Now comes along the neocons and"Religeios Right". The science of evolution is not true and the science of Global Warming is false. Blow off most of the intelligence & military advise and all of a sudden George "we are on a mission from God" Bush invades Iraq.

I wonder if we continue to allow these people to control our government if we will just slide back into the dark ages. I was totally shocked when so many Republican candidates for President did not believe in evolution.

that cartoon reminds me for some strange reason of the old joke,

"why do baptiists forbid sex while standing up?"

"because they are afraid it might lead to dancing."
