I think he's a good guy. He's opinionated (aren't we all) and will not hesitate to donate his two cents.
I also have a great deal of confidence in his food critiques.

Thanks Chel! Cool

I do take food very seriously. I know, right, what am I doing here? Well, making fun of it of course! Sometimes I just think that if you complain about how lousy something is enough, someone might get annoyed enough to listen.

But no worries; I follow an age old token of wisdom: you can pick your friends and you can pick your nose... well, you know the rest boogiepickers...

I am back from the warm weather of my early X-mas vacation Cool

So what did I miss?

I've been meaning, desperately, to watch "Pushing Daisies" but I missed the boat since it wasn't advertised (after all, The Biggest Loser 8 or whatever is far more important).

With the writers strike though, I'm sure I'll have my chance to pickup once they re-air the series due to popular demand, OR, never see it due an increased interest in "Who Wants to Marry My Obese, Midget Dad!?"

In better news from the writers strike front, am I the only person on Earth who enjoyed the series "Jericho?" The first 2/3 of the first season sucked unbelievably, but it really picked up. When the show was canceled, and huge grassroots effort petitioned CBS to give it another try and, amazingly, they gave in. So, we have a new, yet short and mid-season, airing. I'd say give it a shot because post-apocalyptic dramas are kind of cool.

Except most of it.

If you watch Jericho, which is mostly dumb, I will watch Pushing Daisies.

BTW, I was listening the NPR's Fresh Air Best Shows of 2007 list and number 1 was 30 Rock, which is hilarious (although I'm still quite partial to The Office).

The episodes of 30 Rock that I've caught were quite funneh. I've missed a lot of The Office--Now, when I watch, I sense I've missed out on vital background.

Being left out makes me sad.

The Office isn't really a "laugh-out-loud" funny sort of show; it's very nuanced. Seeing the original British version (with closed captioning of course) would make it even more appreciable. What can I say, Steve Carell is one of my heroes, but The Office is quite good.

I'm going to be answering his questions for weeks now Sad

Oooh, let me be the first!

What in the flying fickle finger of fate is Morel Orel?
Wait, do I want to know? Wink

Last question answered first: Probably not.

From Cartoon Network: Moral Orel
Orel is an eleven-year-old boy who loves church. His unbridled enthusiasm for piousness and his misinterpretation of religious morals often lead to disastrous results, including self-mutilation and crack addiction. No matter how much trouble he gets into his reverence keeps him cheery.
http://www.adultswim.com/shows/moralorel/

From Wikipedia: It has been described as "Davey and Goliath...meets South Park".

Quote:
Three episodes of the first season were held back because Cartoon Network's Standards & Practices found them to be too dark and over the top sexually crude even for Adult Swim (one episode centered on Orel drinking alcohol in order to be more adult, the second centered on Orel and his new friend beating up two boys who are presumably homosexual, and the last was centered around Orel using his sperm to impregnate the women in town after being reprimanded for masturbating and letting his sperm go to waste). Two were approved for air in May 2006, with the last "banned" episode airing July 31, 2006.

Orel gradually comes incrementally to the realization that the morality preached by the religion and adults in his town is really hypocritical or ethically wrong, and Orel gradually loses his once adamant respect for his father as an authority figure.

Quote:
Lost commandments
11 Thou shalt be ashamed of thy natural anatomy.
12 Thou shalt only have sex face-to-face, man on top.
13 Thou shalt not bastardize the American language.
14 Thou shalt always clean thy plate and not waste anything, whether thy stomach is full or not.
18 Thou shalt be loyal to all thy friends at the same time.
19 Thou shall not masturbate.
21 Get it right!
29 Everything's fine!
(no number) God works in mysterious ways.
(no number) Spare the rod and spoil the child.

I just might have to check it out, as there is nothing else on TV worthy of watching lately. (I am so tired of the news!)
