On to more important matters:
There is no excuse for not watching Stewart and Colbert, they will air tonight's shows quite a bit tomorrow (new episodes Monday thru Thursday)...it's not like there is anything else to watch
i still consider myself more informed than the average person.

That's because Jon Stewart was locked in your basement; don't lie.

Coppy,
I occassionally will make a post, think about it, feel vunerable (one of the worst of the emotions evah) and then edit the post because I no longer want to share and I like to pretend it never happened.
My problem is that when you quote me, I can't pretend it never happened and I feel all exposed and stuff. Just because I hate wearing bottoms doesn't mean I want to feel exposed.
Why must you antagonize me? _________________ I demand euphoria! |

Well, let's see...
there was a tacky little dress
they preferred us to be teens
we serviced people
and old guys used to stare at us and wanted to give us stuff...
It's perfectly clear what I meant! _________________ I demand euphoria! |

Didn't you notice? They (POstaff) negated the importance of my thread by adding a Movies/TV Shows section.

Hey Springhill,
Have you ever filed for a compensation ratings review?
I was told that it is customary to file for one either annually or every few years. 'They' said that ratings are typically increased this way, which is why you have so many old dudes with 100% ratings.
Most of the doctors I have talked to are surprised I only have 20%, but I was just happy to be eligible for Rehab (and sick of the whole process) -- I didn't want to go thru an appeal. I was assigned to Baltimore V.A. at the time---can you say "EW"?
I'm still sick of the process, but feel like I'm getting worse and more issues are popping up. All of the specialists disagree as to what's actually going on, but they do agree that it is getting worse. Yay
Basically, should I request a review now or should I wait until the specialists can actually determine what's going on? (If they can.)
I'm just looking for some guidance.
I don't know what I'm doing. I belong to DAV (the only organization I've ever committed to, er, you know what I mean), but my files were lost during the transfer from MD to PA and I've never been to one of the 'social' meetings, even tho' some guy in Hagerstown keeps sending me fliers. And even though I know lots of veterans and lots of service members (some broke some not) I am not in contact with anyone like me (broken & booted) who is dealing with similar circumstances. Most of them have either not filed yet or filed and forgot about it--I wish I had that luxury.
I know I am rambling, but Help. Please?
(If it sounds like I'm feeling sorry for myself it's because I AM!
I am cranky and self-pitying and, and I'm being such a chick, but I don't care!! cause later I'll just edit this and pretend it never happened _________________ I demand euphoria! |

It is probably best to apply. You can apply anytime you want... . not to say that anything is easy w/ the Va... not sure what era you served in but right now that is relevant.
They aren't giving us vie V's jack at this time... the focus is on current disabled from current conflict, as it rightly should be. The VA (dept of vet affairs now that it is cabinet level and directy under the control of the prez)
has a backlog of 500,000 cases as of last month.
Thats a long line. I say get in line, Never under any circumstances update your claim unless they ask you. At Phila regional, it is common knowledge that if caseworkers receive a lot of flack from benefit applicants, they will bury your folder.
There will come a time in your process when they will ask you for whatever they think they need from you. Wait til then to dump the
medical evidence updates on them...
...Best i can tell you... good luck... they're screwing vets left and right under bush. And the sad thing is none of the vet orgs are really standing up.
My Real advice? Get a Va lawyer as soon in the process as you are allowed. A va lawyer is better than no rep at all. |

Yeah, whatever happened to the 80x80 pixel limitation?
I have to say spring, I'm not a big fan of the horizontal scroll necessitated by your giant platypus. |
