Look, you're obviously far more antiquated with Greene Township laws and regulations than I am. I'm not even going to pretend that I know more than you, or that I have a more informed opinion... because I don't. Thank you for filling me in on what the FVFD issue is about, and although it is a bit one-sided, I see your point and... well, wow, I even had to read it fast (if ya know what I mean). Obviously you feel strongly about this, and that's cool. I have no beefs or opposition to Greene Township's argument when it comes to the FVFD issue.

But that doesn't affect me. I'm a normal, regular, run of the mill, relatively young and marginally successful resident of Chambersburg. I have my opinions about things and I make them known.

Look, I'm against Greene Township for basically what you outlined; for me, it's about convenience and potential. The Chambersburg Mall SUCKS!!!! OK? It doesn't have to? It really doesn't. And the laughably moronic billboard outside the exit proclaiming that Chambersburg Mall is a "great place to shop" and "with over 60 stores!" is a lie and an outrage. How many out-of-town motorists do you think have been duped into stopping at the Chambersburg Mall as if they could buy anything that wasn't circa 1997?

Greene Township. I don't care if they're state roads, why is the mall dead? Why? No development. Greene township hates development, regardless of the fact that they have a friggin mall and that there are acres of UNUSED LAND surrounding it. I don't give two craps if Greene Township gives bakchoes and ambulances away for free, I care that because of Greene Township's REPRESSIVE, RIDICULOUS, ANTIQUATED and USELESS local policy, what could be a profitable economic center is seriously a laughing stock. And as the rest of Chambersburg finally begins to march into the 21st century, good old Greene Township is left behind whining about the redneck volunteer fire department.

You seriously don't think that a significant increase in retail commerce around Chambersburg Mall wouldn't help provide the motivation for additional funding to Greene Township?

CLEAN UP THE DAMN EXIT!!!

That's all I have to say. I don't care about this petty crap, the mall is a joke and it's Greene Township's fault and you telling me that the delay is "payback" for Greene Fighting Exit 7 (definition of "repressive) does nothing to ease my scorn toward Greene Township.

Thanks for supporting me on the "dry" issue though; as you can see, if simply allowing a bar in Greene Township gets shot down every time by the residents, then simple enough.. I BLAME THE RESIDENTS. Most of which, I assume, are the reason why Chambersburg's median age is 10 years older than the national average.

Thank you, Me, for explaining the Fire Dept. mess.

I understand the whole self sacrifice for the good of the community thing. There is a special place in my heart for individuals who do so. That said, there are few things I hate more than civil servants who take advantage using their title as cause.

When you agree to a plan you follow the plan.
You still have to respect other people.
You shouldn't be a fireman, a soldier, a cop etc just so you can swagger around, expecting people to be beholden to you or to receive special perks...If that's why you're in it, please get out now.

I don't think I need to say it, but will just in case, the you is in general.

Oh yes, I agree 10000%!! The perk I got was knowing I was providing a service to my community and not "what's in it for me" !!

I was not one of them and this attitude is exactly why the volunteer spirit is dying!!!!
