We have a HUGE problem; and I say that because as I type this, I'm waiting for my blood pressure to return to normal levels.
I was driving on Stouffer Ave today, toward Route 30 (from Wayne Ave). And I got stuck at the traffic light at the intersection of Stouffer and McKinley. I was about 7 vehicles back.
It was red for what seemed like a long time. And then it turned green. And no one went. I just sat there, and then about 10-15 seconds later, without moving an inch, it turned yellow then red.
This happened TWO MORE TIMES. Yes, I sat at this light, 7 cars back, through 3 light cycles.
There are two things I blame this on. One, is you stupid, idiot Chambersburg drivers. What is wrong with you people? Don't you know green means go? Don't you know that when you have a green light, cars turning left DO NOT have the right of way? Yes, one of the mini vans in front of me let cars waiting to turn left onto McKinley go on a green light. I hate all of you; you who don't know how to drive at all, you who insist on turn left onto Norland from Walker, you who don't use turn signals, or understand who has the right of way at a four-way stop sign. I'd love to see you get greased on the Beltway or anywhere in New Jersey.
You're the worst drivers ever. I don't care if you're a pokey senior citizen trying to get to the Butcher Shoppe for the 8th time in one day, green means go, traffic laws apply to you and some of us have jobs, meetings and things that we need to do without having to worry about rushing around over it.
Second, that light is absurd. Why does the green for McKinley last so much longer than for Stouffer? And I mean like 10 times longer. Ten seconds of green light for Stouffer is not right, especially in the middle of the day. It's take ten seconds just for the blue-haired lady in front of me to even realize the light changed color.
So go ahead, tell me what you think... it's just one more reason for me to despise Chambersburg so what's one more, right? It's not like this is some obscure intersection near your house; we all go this way.
So much for improvement. |

omg...
i was just saying about the same things about drivers yesterday driving home from hagerstown.
i'll make a play in one act, one scene for you demonstrating my phone converstation:
Act I, Scene I
Location, I-81
In between Scotland and Fayette Street Exits
Cookie: OMG...go the friggin speed limit. it's 65 for the love of god
Mom: i should just hang up and let you drive
Cookie: NO...d*mmit...why can't they just GO..i can talk, rant and drive. what did you do today?
Mom: ran some chores with your aunt, went to giant for cat food and....
Cookie: (interupting) OMG he's getting off at the Fayette exit...now i have to follow this moron home. sorry...what did you do after giant?
Mom: well, that's pretty much it...dropped her off and got supper for your grandfather and...
Cookie: OMFG...he's going...and i kid you not....friggin 15 miles an hour. WTH is WRONG WITH HIM? GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......
Mom: (silence)
Cookie: sorry...you know i have to get this out of my system. otherwise it builds up like tourettes. What are you getting into tonight?
Mom: gonna watch dancing with the stars. that's about it.
Cookie: can we GO any slower? MOVE IT....oh, thank god, he's turning right at the stop sign. i feel so much better....who do you think's gonna get kicked off tonight? |

If any of those drivers knew what the Internet was, I'd give them a piece of my mind right here and now.
I think my horn is going to start seeing a lot more action... how about if we all just honk our horns if we're behind someone at a red light and it turns green? Just lay on the horn until the car in front of you decides to go. If we all did, it might condition people to just go when the light turns green. I don't mean peel out or drive like a maniac... I mean just go on green. That's it!
But that's not the whole problem; I WANT that light changes... there needs to be a longer green for Stouffer and I'm willing to do what I have to in order to make it happen. |

I am starting to feel better... blood pressure is starting to drop. Calming down.
Until I have to drive again. It's not like I rage on anyone... this is my outlet. I don't yell or make inappropriate gestures at someone's grandmother because they mixed up the gas and brake pedals again.
It's all these people going to The BS for more whoopie pies. |

amens, yo.
they are a little sliver of heaven for me. i cherish the small things in life. like a good whoopie pie.
or the finally budding trees (THANK GOODNESS)...the sunday sale bills and comics...clean teeth (um...feels good to have freshly brushed teeth....i am a wee bit ocd tho..i'll throw clean hands in that group too)...i love when my box from amazon comes and a new book is waiting. quiet time to my piano. and flexing my toes in the grass. and whoopie pies. but i'm pretty specific with those and yes, that's why they're driving to the BS and you're missing out so stop and smell the whoopie pies coppy--they aren't dippy eggs and the mysteries of the world won't be unlocked but you'll have a dang good dessert for your dinner.
yup yup. gonna be a long day. can smell it already. the meandering is a sign. |

I'm not sure what *** said, but I have a feeling I know... Moon pies are totally different though. Moon pies are a graham cracker sandwich with marshmallow in the middle, and the whole thing is dipped in chocolate.
