Feb. 1, 2008 - EL_Jefe_Speaks
We loved the thread "10 Reasons to Buy 'Rock Band'" simply - and perhaps solely - because of those amazing photos. As one poster pointed out, the terrified little girl made us laugh for days. So congrats to our first winner!

Feb. 8, 2008 - Dave
So our next winner in the Best Of contest is Dave for starting what (eventually) turned out to be a relatively thoughtful analysis of the 2008 presidential race though the Super Tuesday primary, helpfully generated by tons of good comments by posters too numerous to list.

It's not often that a discussion on immigration manages to avoid acrimonious race-baiting, but this one somehow stayed above board and managed to provide some interesting thoughts along the way.

March 28, 2008 - Doctor Kird Ape
Okay, it's perhaps not the heaviest topic we've seen around the boards in recent weeks, but it was a pretty ingenious idea and it spurred an awfully long and entertaining string of posts. They don't all have to be guns or butter issues to provide an interesting read. Kudos to the good Doctor, one of our newest (and definitely strangest) denizens.

Kudos to Chel for starting a topic that greatly bolstered our command of little-known facts, trivial or otherwise. I know I managed to greatly increase my opportunities to annoy others by pointing out all the things I "knew" that they did not, always a worthy cause. And heck, we just felt like throwing Chel some love. Is that so wrong?

No, we're not angling for any special favors from she-of-the-large-caliber, the fact is we simply forgot about this topic after it dropped into the nether pages. It's sometimes easy to forget there was a time (about 15 years ago) when we too were new to the Internet. If just one person manages to further corrupt their high school English we'll consider the mission fulfilled.
