I've been watching the Chiller Network since it's creation.
Mostly really bad television shows and cheesy 80's horror. (Anyone remember the series Freddy's Nightmares, based on Nightmare on Elm Street?)
They do show Hitchcock tho' and thus, they are forgiven.
The channel recently started showing the Millennium series and I was reminded that I like it (watching the tivo'd keeps me from being American Idol's Biggest Loser---Gah bless anything that keeps me away from primetime!)
So the Millennium episode that aired Monday (at 7 pm eastern) was titled 'Kingdom Come' and dealt with the sorrow of a 'good christian man' who had lost his family, felt betrayed by God and goes around killing priests and ministers in accordance with the standards of the Spanish Inquisition, then plans to kill himself because he could not kill God.
Yeah, I know the story has been done before, but I thought, maybe due to all that is going on in RL, that this episode was quite thought provoking, as Frank Black, whose faith, in his words, had strayed, struggled with talking to his own young daughter about death and God, all the while persuing a man that was lashing out at a God that had allowed his life to crumble.
...and I'm verging on rambling if not over the edge. I lost my point in the typing somewhere. If someone finds it, kindly put it back on target.
Thank you. _________________ Nevermind. |

That youtube video was dang funny.
On to reality shows. The thing to really think about is this....someone set their dvr so that they did not have to miss the other show.
Was Land of the Lost bad tv? Or was it just that their father was evil for leaving them behind? Or was it just convenient that when their father escaped, their Uncle just happened to end up there? _________________ The Anti-Life Equation= Loneliness + Alienation + Fear + Despair + Self-worth / Mockery / Condemnation / Misunderstanding x Guiltx Shame x Failure x Judgment; N=Y Where Y=Hope and N=Folly, Love = Lies, Life = Death, Self = Dark Side |

I would prefer game shows that punish.
I once saw a show on cable that was not in English, called Hey Hey Hey Music champ. I believe it is from Japan.
There were two people facing each other and kneeling. On one side was a helmet. (Like the Beastie Boys wore in the Intergalactic video) On the other was a folded up fan or newspaper. The contestants would play rock, paper, scissors. Who ever won would grab for the fan, the loser would grab for the helmet. The winner would try to hit the loser over the head before they could get the helmet on.
That is quality. _________________ The Anti-Life Equation= Loneliness + Alienation + Fear + Despair + Self-worth / Mockery / Condemnation / Misunderstanding x Guiltx Shame x Failure x Judgment; N=Y Where Y=Hope and N=Folly, Love = Lies, Life = Death, Self = Dark Side |

In the 70's I use to go watch them film "Match Game 74 or 75 or 76". You wouldn't believe how many times they would have to break tape to start over. Charles Nelson Reily and Brett Sommers were such cut ups! Betty White was on there so much; she was a hoot and naughty! Most of her answers had to be thrown out and another question asked! Thanks for the memory! _________________ Unless they share our opinions, we seldom find people sensible. |
