When it comes to cable, there is no choice. If Comcast does not service the area you are moving to, there is either no cable at all, or a single provider will service the area.
In either case, it may be best for you to consider satellite service. |

Thats kind of what I was afraid of. I noticed that everyone around us has satellite. Eek. |

I really enjoyed satellite when we were in the sticks, and it cost about the same even with internet included. In 15 months, we had I think two weather-related interruptions.
I would still recommend satellite for anyone who doesn't need internet for gaming. The service was better, the menu layouts are cleaner and more intuitive, and well, it's not Comcast. _________________ "The Master would not approve..." |

I always thought satellite internet access was considerably slower than cable at a higher price?
\I've been mulling over getting satellite for a while now, but what keeps holding me back is my lack of Internet access choices. |

It runs just about as fast as a decent DSL connection. For gaming though, the latency kinds ruins it.
But for browsing and downloading I really didn't notice much of a difference. _________________ "The Master would not approve..." |

Comcast is it. They do offer great specials with all services. I had the triple play and when it expired I pay 127.00 for all three. I thought the bill would sky rocket but it increased 15.00. _________________ I have this theory that chocolate slows down the aging process.... It may not be true, but do I dare take the chance?

The triple play is a good deal if you need to have landline phone service. I personally don't, but I do have HD service, DVR and HBO which really makes my bill a little painful. |

I really don't need that land line but for under 40.00 it is cheaper calling long distance and ot getting charged or using too many of my cell phones minutes.
Use to do satilite and won't go back...don't know if cause we live in the mtns but windy,rainy,snow...no signal! _________________ I have this theory that chocolate slows down the aging process.... It may not be true, but do I dare take the chance?

| Yeah, satellite will obviously be affected more in certain areas. The irony is that the area's least suited (due to weather or other reasons) for satellite are the area's that don't have other alternatives. |

i've lived places where the cable wasn't monopolized, and you could get much better deals. comcast sucks because they've kept us from having choices. |
