Ohio's Job Losses in 2000s Worst Since Great Depression
According to the US Department of Labor, Ohio had -209,400 fewer nonfarm jobs in December 2007 than it had in December 2000. This loss of -3.7% of Ohio’s jobs is the worst seven-year loss in state records that begin in 1939 as the Great Depression was ending. The previous seven-year job loss record was the period ending in 2006 (-3.6% of jobs lost) and before that the record was held for the period ending in 1962 when -3.4% of jobs were lost in the demobilization after the Korean War.

We've gone over this; that's not true. Dippy egg means different things to different people. You may consider that over easy. Other folks consider dippy eggs to be "sunnyside up" as I would call them. Still others would consider a dippy egg ANY egg that has a yolk that is, in any way, runny which would include sunnyside and over easy, but also to a lesser extent, over-medium and poached.
Consider this next time you go out for breakfast and ask the server for dippy eggs; it's very confusing. |

North America
North Americans may choose among the following methods:
* 'Over hard', also called 'hard' — cooked on both sides until the yolk has solidified.
* 'Over medium' — cooked on both sides until the yolk is fairly thick but still a liquid.
* 'Over easy', also called 'runny' — cooked on both sides (not clear) but yolk is still liquid. This is occasionally called 'sunny side down.' These are also commonly referred to as 'dippy eggs' or 'dip eggs' by Marylanders and by Pennsylvania Dutch persons living in southern Pennsylvania, mainly due to the practice of dipping toast into the yolk while eating. Also called 'treasure eggs' in southwestern Pennsylvania.
* 'Sunny side up' — cooked only on one side; yolk is liquid (the oil or fat may be used to baste the sunny side, however. ) This is often known simply as 'eggs up'. Covering the frying pan with a lid throughout cooking allows for a less "runny" egg.
* Another style known simply as 'Fried' - eggs are fried on both sides with the yolks broken until set or hard. These are common in fried egg sandwiches and in Asian cuisine.

Yeah, I hear ya. Besides all the climate reasons (and just the fact that it's freakin' Ohio), I've cited economic concerns in my argument. He keeps telling me that it's not really that bad all over, even though a Macy's recently closed near his hometown.
$12K a year? Seriously? How does that work?
For some perspective, a two-bedroom luxury apartment here runs $1289 and that's on the low end of the two-bedroom scale...unless you want to live with drunk college kids near the university or in section-8 housing. |

And that's why we ended up in Chambersburg rather than Virginia for H.'s job. 
I like Virginia, but whew, those prices and not being sure what would happen once he left the military? (Turns out he, literally, ended up right across the street.) There are some higher paying jobs for his particular field in the VA area, but when we bought, we did so on an Army salary not civilian so, that, sadly, left VA out of the question.
MD was never an option 'cause H. hates Maryland more than Ohio.
Off-topic, I think it's cute, but should I be offended that my husband thinks of me when he sees this, or should I just be flattered he knows me so well?

Well, I'm gonna have nightmares now...
But yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. Plus, Virginia makes you pay a personal property tax on your car twice a year and they tax retirement, which is why my parents won't move down. They love the area, but my dad says that he won't have them taking his retirement check.
What's his big problem with Maryland?

I have the Ex knife holder! In red. I bought one for my sister and one for one of my dearest buds (currently in Iraq) in black. The chrome one came out the next year, I believe. I'm not big on shiny metal because of finger prints and smudges, but the others turned out to be plastic with very little weight.
I also bought my sister a voodoo doll toothpick holder and a few years back, I gave her and my uncle a container shaped like a mans head with a bulbous nose and holes for the nostrils...it's an egg separator. I actually get sick watching it being used (I have thing about mucus) but they loved them. We are kinda 'different' in my family.

I'm not going to type his exact words, but he thinks Marylanders are rude, commies that can't drive, plus the state gov't is awful.
He really is a sweetheart (I know it doesn't sound like it) he's just stubborn and opinionated about certain things. I usually just roll my eyes and ignore him when he goes on a Maryland rant. What can I say? He's my yankee goober head.

Fan of unique kitchen gadgets? You need to make a trip to The Happy Cook. The Kitchen Shoppe in Carlisle may be similiar; I never had the chance to check it out. The Happy Cook is super fun to browse...but expensive. They have these cool bamboo bowls, but it's $12 just for one small dessert bowl. No thanks. |
