There are two specific answers mentioned, but if you know of more go ahead and post them all!

Benedict Arnold?
Mmm, I love eggs benny.... too bad you can't get them around here (other than at Perkins)
Actually, I'm almost positive that this one of those things whose origin is in dispute, although I'm sure did come from a New York hotel (like the Cobb Salad). And, of course, named for a guy named Benedict. |
