I'm sorry Torgo, but after seeing the way you berated poor AnonyMouse in the Pa. Primary thread and then the way you continue to belittle me, I was riled.

You know what? I'm not even going to say any more.

Nice edit.

Never fear, though, I saw what you wrote. And I'm going to have to decline your redacted apology and invitation that we stop "ripping each other."

See you around boards!

In recent days Hillary has lost the backing of a few super delegates while Obama has gotten 12 new pledges.

It is impossible for Hillary to win enough delegates to win the nomination. She is slightly behind in delegates won and would need 75% of the remaining delegates to win the nomination. She may not win till Texas and Ohio and even if she does win both she will probably still be behind in delegates and far short of the 2025.

So if it is decided at the convention and given to hillary, The candidate who won more states, garnered more delegates, and clearly energized the Democratic Party more than anyone in recent memory has the door slammed in his face by party leaders.

"Oh, and he's black. Which means that cries of racism and Hillary "stealing the election" from the poster boy of the New Democratic Party will reach a fever pitch. Right or wrong, Mr. Obama is now perceived as the new JFK, a young, charismatic uniter hailing from the Land of Lincoln. To have a Clinton, with her image of a snake-oil salesman, stealing the nomination would be tantamount to Democratic Party suicide."

"Wounds will open that will not heal for years, let alone in time to pull out a victory two months later. The Democrats will split like the parting of the Red Sea, and the entire party will be awash in bitter resentment. Even Mr. Obama's soothing oratory for party unity will go unheeded. For many Democrats, principle above party will rule the day, and the rift will simply widen."

And Hillary won the popular vote.

Walrus, I recognize your support for Obama. I apologize again for teasing you in a previous posts, I should have been more sensitive to your feelings.
But frankly, some Obama supporters make me feel a little bullied. I do not respond well to the "pick my candidate or I'm taking my ball and going home" attitude. If they want to sit home and pout if they do not get their way then maybe they aren't 'grown' enough to be voting in the first place. (And no, my 'grown' comment has nothing to with age.)

And If they want to call me, and others like me, racist for not supporting Obama, go right ahead and alienate more people. It won't get them very far.

This is funny because my sigoth and I were discussing how this is the EXACT same attitude some republicans are displaying when it comes to McCain. It's like, "he's not republican enough" (although she used the phrase "I'm taking my Barby's and going home").

I mean, won't any democrat be better than Bush? Won't McCain even be better than the neocon establishment? I don't know, if you're understandably anti-establishment, then maybe you can't stand anyone with a name like Bush or Clinton, but to me, they're worlds apart. This country was arguably at its most prosperous under a Clinton. Yes, I'm supporting Obama, but what it came down to for me was our country's perception around the world. Most people don't care about that, and I can understand that. What's the president going to do for "me." Otherwise, I find both Hillary and Obama nearly identical on the issues and it's sad, to me, that we no longer vote on issues.

The same back-and-forth name-calling about experience and legacy are nearly the same as the Republican BS about candidates who support stem cell research not being "conservative enough." Geez, these people want Huckabee like he's the second coming of Christ, yet he's practically an economic liberal. But the only thing that matters to many republicans now is crap like gays and abortions and flag burning and stem cells. And I marginalize it by calling it crap because that's what it is and it deserves to marginalized. If you want to get upset because your candidate won't support a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage than that's your prerogative, but that's also a sad story.

And it's the same thing with Obama and Hillary. Go with the flow, vote your conscience, but a new year without Bush is a great year for this country... and the entire world.

Very well put, Coppy.

I don't want the Soapbox torn apart by political disagreement. We are better than Topix, darnit!! We can disagree without regressing.

Okay, now let's talk about religion.

Wink
