I miss the drop down menus on the sports page that allowed you to read the past 7 days of sports. Any chance of that reappearing on the site??
or is there another way to find them?? |

This is my first time on the site since it has changed. I was wondering how to find the local news for yesterday, without the drop down that was there before. Is it not offered any longer? If I missed buying a paper, I always liked to "catch up" online. _________________ I Care |

We are still working on two things: dating the articles and making some changes in the navigation tabs/menus.
The ability to select a previous day's news will not be restored, however. People can search for specific topics or stories by typing key words into the search box. But we are moving away from being a daily newspaper posted online once a day, to becoming a local news Web site that is updated throughout the day and that offers expanded content.
Those who want to see content organized the way the newspaper is organized should buy the newspaper. For those who prefer getting their local news online, the Public Opinion Web site will no longer strictly follow the newspaper format. In a lot of ways, that format doesn't translate well to the Web or make sense. |

agreed, p.o. staff.
how this site is being created is evolving along the ways of other online news sources (death to left nav!!)...once ppl get used to it, all will be well. cburg doesn't like change.
and any site redesign has some tweaks that need tweaking after the actual posting. it can't live in beta on test servers forever. |

I tried to find an article that I had read in the Friday night paper that I had bought. I wanted to pull it up to comment on it online. When it is only available on the day of publishing, it makes it harder for those of us who work late to make the connection before the day is over.
I am not adverse to change. Just trying to figure out how it works in case I had missed it somewhere. The site looks good. _________________ I Care |

well I guess it doesn't matter because Monday's softball game articles aren't online anyway. Oh, wait a minute, Chambersburg didn't play last night.
Some of us do both, read the paper and get the online copy too. |

| the problem is, there is no link from the sports page to the softball games, you have to search for softball to get the game results |

That is why this forum is so nice. You can make your case and then the staff can gather up all of the complaints and ideas and try to provide a solution.
And since it is posted for all to see, others can offer input on your input and all of the ideas are in one location, unlike letters sent in to their office or phone messages taken by a receptionist, which could get lost in the shuffle.

| I actually like how new stories just sort of appear on top of old; some stores appear on the page for several days without having to select a specific day. This is typical of news websites. |
