I have two for ya:
I went to Jerry's Subs over the weekend and got one of their self-proclaimed "world's greatest cheesesteaks." Now, it was no Tony Luke's that I had a couple weeks ago, but I have to say I was pretty impressed. You get the choice of bistro bread (highly recommended) and my steak came with fried jalepenos. It actually wasn't quite greasy enough to be great (go figure) but I was pretty impressed... it was a pretty good cheesesteak. I would NOT, however, recommend their pizza which looked wet and bland.
I also went to 7 P's, which is the sandwich shop across from Emily's that is never open on weekends or after 5. I have no idea what "7 P's" means, but I can say is that it's a shame they hold such awful hours because the sandwiches are delicious. I had a muffaletta panini (probably the only place to get something like that in Franklin County) which is basically salami, ham, provolone tomato and an olive tapenade on ciabatta bread. It was superb; I only wish they'd extend their hours to the weekend and make the sterile interior feel a bit more cozy. But if you can grab lunch in town during the week, I highly recommend checking it out. The soups looked great too. |

Where is Jerry's Subs?
If anyone gets to a place with a San Francisco Oven (it's a chain, but there are very few of them), go there. I ate at one in Ohio last week. I had a BBQ Chicken panini and clam chowder. It's like a classier, yummier Panera Bread, with brick-oven pizzas and cool sandwich and wrap selections. |

Crap, I have to stop reading these boards before I leave work.
Now I want Chinese food, a cheesesteak and an Applebees salad (not sure where that one came from).  |

I love Pizza Factory! Their chicken cheese sandwich is the best I have had. My kids LOVE their pizza! The owners are so nice and friendly! Never had a bad meal or experience there.

ok.....i just found a lovely little gem of a restaurant.
Alekos 2 Go....a drive thru greek restaurant. looked clean inside (i like to snoop on cleanliness while i wait...it's important to me to see)....friendly service. very friendly. i had the chicken souvlaki and some baklava. both just sooooo tasty. great proportions and uber yummy.
i give it a thumbs up ... driving thru hagerstown and want to try something different...totally give this a shot.

Iris gave the Durango restaurant in Hagerstown quite a good review... I keep meaning to go there and I'm not even sure what keeps holding me up. Spanish and Tex-Mex cuisine is right up my alley.
I think I'm going to try going though based on her review; the dishes sound great... Peruvian sauces, plantains and various paella's... we should be talking about places like this more! It sounds like the food has a Caribbean/South American flair to it.
So, has anyone been there.. or even heard of it? This is clearly the type of place we need more of, featuring foods with flavor. |

Red Curry, in Hagerstown right next to Crazy Horse has EXCELLENT Thai/Chinese food. Yes, that's right, a Thai restaurant in Hagerstown.
Don't wait on line for crappy food at Crazy Horse; stop in at Red Curry. I had a great sizzling chicken dish with curry paste and chile peppers. My S-o had the best Pad Thai I've tried in a long time. The prices are extremely reasonable.
