Giant, Kohl's, PetSmart, etc., are covered by CPD, so that makes them boro boxes. Very Happy

All of Norland Ave, INCLUDING ALL the stores you just listed are in the Boro and I think they're a 1-05 Box area. Engine 1-2 from the HQ station would be first due. Like I said, there is a LONG range plan that will extend Norland out of the boro and into Greene Twp connecting to Scotland Road I do believe.

I was involved in the long range planning of emergency services in area and KNOW for a fact this area is in the Boro and KNOW for a fact what the mileages are from various fire & EMS stations is.

Call the 911 Center, HQ Fire Staton, Greene Twp or the County Planning Commission and they'll ALL tell you this is in the BORO OF CHAMBESBURG.

And ONCE AGAIN, if this WAS in Greene Twp, it would be a Franklin Fire Co Box area, either 44-01 or 44-02.

I've looked at and in more street books than you'll ever know and even threw one out the window of the wagon (fire truck) 'cause it was so poorly drawn and didn't show me where the hydrants were!!!!!! So PLEASE prove me wrong and tell me Greene Twp annexed this area of the Boro.

My Gawd, can't you just admit you've made an error????? And glad to hear you don't drink, I'll make up for it!!

I don't really even understand the argument. 7-7 box? How about we all just go to target and buy some tube socks?

The local municipality, let's say Acme Twp, devides their area between the fire & ems depts, based on who is closest, for the most part.

The dept then devides their area into what is referred to a "Box Areas".

So when someone calls 911 and advises there is an emergency at 123 Main St in Acme PA, the 911 screen shows it's in Acme Twp and Co "X" is first due and ithat it's Box X-1. The dispatcher pulls the Box Card for Box X-1 and automatically knows the appropriate type and number apparatus depending on what type of call it is.

And now that ya mention it, I do need some tube socks !!

For the most part it all is. WHen the call comes into 911, the screen shows the number, who it's registered, the street address, municipality, any recent incident activities/ hazards, what PD, FD and EMS dept are the first due/ primary depts.

The only thing that is not automated, yet, is the Box Cards and they're working on them.

So yes, all most all of it is automated.

This will be my last post because for some reason, ME has taken it upon himself to call me a liar. To this I add, I am not. I will not tolerate this.

To further prove my validations, we looked up (myself, the fire Lt Deputy Chief, & the President of the company I asociate with), the I called Co 7 to further confirm that in fact, THAT SMALL AREA TO WHICH WE SPOKE IS INDEED A 7 (meaning Company 7) -7 (meaning farther away) BOX! That doesn't mean it has to be in Greene Township. (Idiot)

Look at Co. 11. They run in Greene, Lurgan, Letterkenny Twnsps as their 1st due box.

These boards have been fun and enlightening. I don't post things I do not know to be true. If there has been a mistake, I am the first to apologize.
