but i'll let it out.

i'm on the board for AMSA (American Medallic Sculpture Association) and we consist of medalists and numismatics and collectors.

so, yes, i'm on the board of an organization of coin collectors (i'm one who makes coins/medals..that's why i'm in the organization)....

ok. /pushes black nerd glasses up. got me again. let me fly my nerd flag w/pride!!!!

who taught me? me i guess. i've always drawn since i could hold a crayon in any fashion possible. i drew, drew, drew and then i shifted around 5 to painting on top of that. that evolved into sculpture/photography when i was in 6th gr....then printmaking in 12th and then digital and ceramics and other misc things in undergrad....and jewelry and book making in grad. and i would doodle, so to speak, and read as much as i could on anything arty i could get my hands on. books books books. collages were always on my list of fun things too....so, really, i don't really know where other than from me and my books....

what are you interested in doing? i can pass you some links to help you get going or some tidbit guidelines....OR...i could start an art project of the week thread (& craft) and then we could post what we do at the end of the week. thoughts??? i'd be happy to start that if anyone's interested. give out a project and whoever wants to can work on it then we can share what we've done.

cool idea sort of.

yay chel! you inspired me!!!

lemme know what you think and if you want, i'll start it up Very Happy

I collect Wheats! I've got a 1909 -s VDB In excellent condition!

My Dad used to be a local truck driver (in CA). When ever he would change from the merchants, he'd check for wheats for me. I would buy them off him for 2 cents. I have roughly 1,800 of them. I've filled in one book all the way and several other nearly all the way. Then the rest are just in a box, smelling like copper.

One day he came home with only one. He got it from the Deli. The Kosher Deli. Our Kosher Deli guy was so frugal, had he of known that he gave my Dad a penny worth more that $100 bucks at the time, he would have fainted! Shocked

DH has an ammo can full of coins. He also has a few penny books. I asked him why he needed more than one he said one was an original, one was a new starter and one was for 'the boy'. ('The boy' has only been able to look at it twice and only then under H's eagle eye!)

So, coins, various boxes of cables and coated wire, plugs, power supplies, old motherboards, drives, bits of metal, some rusted and that's just one corner of our computer room/study! (It's a corner 'pile' that expands outward daily.) You don't want to see is actual work spaces!! If H wasn't human he'd be a hairy hoarder.

Honestly, I'm a packrat, too, but my stuff has value and his doesn't!
Besides, I actually purge every once in awhile.
