one time i thought someone was in my house (very odd "trying to get in" noise when i had just moved back to the area....i was alone (was still sortof married then...it was in the fast descent stage of doom)...and i had nothing in my house but "housey rennovation" stuff (was living in one room at the time while EVERYTHING else was torn up in rennovation.

i was like...i will flee (to my parent's house in cburg) BUT i'm gonna fight if i need to.

looked around for something to defend myself w/if need be. saw the double sided pick axe and said: perfect. so i grabbed it, my car keys and left....keeping eyes/ears alert.

i think it was a neighbor in the yard trying to get his dog back and he knocked into my ladder i had outside.

needless to say they don't bother me anymore. LOL.

i got to cburg w/no incident. but i knew that sob wasn't gonna get me w/out a good fight.

today: i am tired, sad it's monday and dreaming of the weekend already.

Today I'm okay. Hopefully, I can get a few things done. H. has another interview with the company I mentioned in earlier posts he had interviewed with. Well, it's more a 'meet the boss and go over notes from last interview' thing

He heard from them last week (Beginning of June, my bum! Only a month late!) They chose someone else for the other position, but still want him in the company (is what they said.)
So, another position has become available, a technician job, shift work like his current employment and they want him to take it.

It will be less pay than current (why does he always want to take jobs that pay less? Doesn't he know how this whole work thing is supposed to work?!) but still excellent benefits, which will be nice and Hagerstown instead of Frederick, which will be nice too.

>sigh<

I'm going to cheat and talk about yesterday. Twisted Evil

Yesterday, I was great! I slept soundly, if only for a few hours, Monday morning and was ready to take on the world!! After hobbling around, accomplishing very little and stuffing myself full of a Cuban sandwich (see Cuisine section) I was worn out by 2 pm, but I still felt good!

'The boy' and H. had some fun before the 'grown-up' one headed off to work. They were introduced to Chambersburg's geocaching (spelling?). They both seemed to enjoy it a great deal! It sounds like something I would enjoy, too. Go figure! Very Happy

AND back during bulky item pick up I was grabbing aquariums, unless they were completely shattered and unrepairable. (Did I mention that I luvs aquariums...especially big ones, but those are harder to come by....SRSLY, if anyone sees aquariums out or knows of someone getting rid of them PLEASE let me know!! I pay for them too, but don't expect me dish out close to full price for a used tank...My husband is cheap when it comes to MY stuff!!)
Razz

H. grabbed me a few 10 gallons off of Broad (I think) and when he went to dump the rest of the water from one after he got home it had 2 dead and one live crawfish in it.

A pause for commentary >Okay, I realize that crawfish are not real high up on the life scale. They aren't exactly cute or useful when they're alive...they are tasty in large quantities, but Come ON!! Don't put stuff out on the curb, trapped in a container in poor conditions like that! At least give it a fighting chance! Or put it out of it's misery humanely<Anyway>sigh<

It was a neat little experience, though, I had never seen baby crawfish.
Very Happy

edited to add: um a large part of my post kinda disappeared Shocked
As you may have gathered the lone surving crawdad was fed seaweed by H. and given a tank of it's own and yesterday it started dropping little mini crawdads everywhere and it seems to be continuing as I type this add on... I need more tanks. Razz

i'll talk about my yesterday too then....i was really tired. and then last night didn't sleep well (which i usually don't because my tuesday classes start at 8 a.m. and i worry about not getting there in time, etc)

i played some wow...got my free glass at mcdonalds (haha...purple! yay! now i feel better as that's the one i've been wanting)

today. today's ok. sort of quiet. i went for greek at lunch (alekos in hagerstown)...tasty! they didn't have lemonade which made me sad so when i got back to work i got a sprite. which i hate. but it's better than 7up i guess and i didn't feel like running to the other building for a can of lemonade.

otherthan that, not much going on. looking up amazon dream books as usual. waiting for the work day to end. whee!

and i agree chel, uh, best to not have critters in the tank when you're disposing of them. not a good thing. glad the one is ok...i assume you're 'keeping' it? Smile (hopefully not eating it LOL)

Smile

Me too. I normally work noon to 8, but tomorrow and Thursday, I get to come in for some seminar at 8:30 a.m. and still work until 8.

Thank goodness for three-day weekends at the beach.

What are these free glasses at McDonalds?

No.

I have this rule about eating things I've lived with. That's a no-go.

I did have a friend (I used to have lots of friends) who, every year would get a piglet, name it Piggy. And he would play with Piggy and walk Piggy and Piggy would sleep in his room and then a few months later, Piggy would be gone but there would be a freezer full of pork. Shocked

Piggy did taste good, but I felt guilty eating him.

I don't need my food guilting me!

Spelling is fine. Glad to hear it. It wasn't my idea of the 'optimal experience', but the geographic location fit the time available....I promise better the next time.

Hang a sign that says you fail anyone who whines.

Threaten to flush their GPAs and the little snots will clamp down...until they're out of ear shot and then they'll whine about you.

And that's one of the reasons why I would make a lousy teacher.

I WANT SOME MUD PUPPIES!!!

Don't you think that would make me heal faster? Huh? Huh?
When we lived in Louisianna all we had to do was go down the street a bit and catch 'em right out of the Bayou. My kids would come home with an entire wagon (red flyer type) and we'd have a nice supper...Oh, see there? Now I'm hungry for MUD PUPPIES!!!

I'd heal faster, I swear! Really, I would!

So, H. just found out that he is wanted...he is so excited. Even though he has to wear polo shirts and docker pants instead of ratty jeans and t-shirts!

Yay for him!

And he found out that with shift differentials and 10 hours of included overtime that his yearly pay would actually be over what he's currently making *and* it's in Hagerstown (most of the time, instead at Fort Detrick in Frederick (a 104 mile round trip).... Yay for our budget!

they could be lying... but he's still happy and excited because it will be actual challenging work instead of the button pushing he does now.

WOOT!

Plus I'm getting two 55 gallons from 2 different people in VA (and maybe some smaller tanks also so they get to clean out their places and I get to clutter my place up and I'm so happy! I wish the other people I emailed and called would get make in touch with me... So I can be happierrrrr

Edited because sometimes I just need to edit myself--if only it were this easy in RL.
