What does that mean? 20 days until it leaves your body or 20 days until you feel like eating again? Man, has that place gone downhill! It's the bolli of last resort. |
well it was my favorite place and I haven't been in town for over 10 years so I plan on getting a pie when I move home. _________________ Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain. |

Go with satellite radio.
The only local station I have at home is 95.1. Why you ask?
Because the babbling and banter that Rick and Lisa do about their lives and their kid annoy the heck out of me. It forces me to get out of bed very quickly to turn off the alarm clock. |

When pressed on the issue of the use of torture by the US Military on detainees at Guantanamo Bay, it was revealed that the prisoners were being subjected to several hours of Rick and Lisa every morning.
My favorite part about them is how they talk about things they have no clue about. Non-intelligent people shouldn't be allowed on the radio talking about things in the world, especially when most of it is tabloid crap and boring details of their personal lives. |

I like how 95.1 always plays that Christian country song about meeting Jesus or something... ugh, talk about ears bleeding. "I Can Only Imagine" or something like that.
I remember for about four years straight, every 6th or 7th song was a Dido song. Dude, what's the deal with Dido? |

Urgent Request to Help Save Pandora and Internet Radio
| Quote: | Hi, it's Tim from Pandora,
I'm writing today to urgently ask for your help. Our future and that of all webcasters is being threatened by the actions of the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America). In an effort to cripple Internet radio they have defied Congressional direction to negotiate reasonable performance fees and are trying to shut us down.
In spite of overwhelming opposition, including from thousands of musicians, they have blatantly pursued a strategy of undermining the process, making outrageous demands, and trying to run out the clock, hoping we will just quietly fade away. There is only one way to stop this violation of the public trust, and that is by mobilizing the collective will of our listening audience.
I am writing to you because your Senator is on the crucially important Senate Judiciary committee. It would be tremendously helpful if you would take just a minute to call your Senator:
Senator Arlen Specter: (202) 224-4254
** When you call, please tell them your home town, and ask them to support the Brownback Internet Radio Equality amendment that will be considered in the Judiciary Committee this Thursday.
This amendment sets webcasting royalties at the same level as those paid by satellite radio, which would compensate musicians fairly and allow web radio to survive. For more info on the bill, please visit: www.savenetradio.org
I hope you'll take just a few minutes to call. It's easy to do and it will truly, truly make a difference. As a young industry, we do not have the lobbying power of the RIAA. You, our listeners, are by far our biggest and most influential allies.
Thank you very much for your support,

I refuse to listen to 95.1. Blech All the stations I like when I'm home are far enough out that they're unreliable. Boooooooo. |

....to hear that others out there enjoy NPR. And yes, it's a shame that the Hagerstown/Washington DC public radio station decided to go all classical. So, I, too, listen to WITF out of Harrisburg....or the WVA one. And neither comes in clearly....
But, I also like 93.3....very different..not the same thing. I started listening to 101.5 in the AM some to hear "Lex and Terry"....a guys show, but I enjoy it nonetheless...guilty pleasure, I guess |

Umm. I'm still listening to Pandora.

Unless you're referring to a woman. Dude, that would be an awesome thing to name your daughter...with all the people who think negatively about the name, some boys wouldn't be allowed to date her for just that reason...Less stress. _________________ I demand euphoria! |

Yes, it's great to hear from another NPR listener; I've found an alternative way to listen to NPR now through podcasting; they podcast a lot of their best stories for free, as well as Fresh Air, Car Talk, Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me and, of course, This American Life.
Pandora is great; they have been having these "Save Pandora" things for a couple years now and they always seem to pull through, thankfully.
As for bad Christian music, you have to see this... because if there's anything worse than Christian Country music... it has to be Christian rap. |
