| Every occurance of litter that I wittnessed was handled in this fashion. Two complaints to DCNR rangers...One was successfully prosecuted. and the second led to no leads.(ALL WERE FOLLOWED UP WITH A PHONE CALL TO ME TO EXCHANGE INFO)(ONE FROM BUCHANAN FOREST AND ONE IN COWANS GAP) However, One complaint with PSP led to nothing.(NO TROOPERS EVER CALLED ME OR SEEMED TO GIVE A POOP.) |

About picking up poop, check out www.poopbags.com. They sell very cheap, easy to buy plastic-like bags that are completely biodegradable. They also fit in those bags-on-board holders that attach to leashes. Perfect! Just pull 'em out, pick up the poop and deposit the bag in the trash, competely guilt free! |

I'll be good now, sorry.
I have two of Giant's cloth bags; unfortunately, I leave the grocery store witha cart full normally. I actually want to buy a sturdy cart so I can walk to and from the store.
I have read that many of the plastic bags made now are photo-degradable; not that that gives litter bugs the right to throw their plastic just anywhere! And it's still worse than paper bags---of course, cockroaches prefer to live and lay eggs on brown paper and cardboard and grocery storage areas are notorious for...There are certain things the average consumer is better off not knowing. Hasn'y anyone seen the "other uses" on the Target bags. I use the store size to line my smaller trash cans. I get two uses out of them So, its not too bad. I'm sure alot of people throw them away not don't try to find another use for them!!! |

You can also take your plastic grocery bags back and get 3 cents credit for each at most grocery stores when you check out. (Instead of using new ones) I use mine for dog poop, and to line sm. trash cans, for picking up soda cans when I'm out walking (hey, I recycle and it does add up and helps the trash situation just a bit more) I also use them (the bags) to bunch up for packaging material and I also take alot of my extras to places like the local food pantries and thrift stores.
Some people are really creative and twist them all up, weave 'em together and make stuff from them. So much you can do with them if you stop and think about it. Oh, and they have places at the grocery stores to recycle them if you don't want to twist them all together and make stuff from them or scoop the poop with them. |

| I save plastic bags if I choose to use them. They work well as trashcan liners, etc. If I'm buying something(s) I can carry with my hands I'll just forego the bag and keep my receipt visible. I got about 5 of those reusable bags from Giant, they work well. Most of the time, however, I'll just stuff my wares into a messenger bag; I ride a bike anywhere I can. It saves gas and is good exercise, not to mention good for the environment, etc. It can get a little hairy trying to look behind you with roughly 30 lbs. of groceries on your back, though. |
