Hamilton Heights is basically a mom and pop grocery store that sells hoagies and other food items. They have been around for quite a while.

Yes they are, especially if you get them on a day that the rolls are good and fresh.

I'm actually going to Frederick today to catch No Country For Old Men (the only place it's still playing) and then grab a bite and some craft beer at Barley & Hops (worth the trip alone).

I'll give Hamilton Heights a try next weekend. In the meantime, why not give AJ's Deli a try and see how they compare? We should be encouraging new local businesses too! Does Hamilton bake their own rolls? That's a HUGE plus.

Where is Aj's?
What are the hours.
Hamilton Heights do do not bake the rolls but they are an unique flavor.

AJ's is on Wayne Avenue in the strip mall by Mario's (across from Chambersburg Fitness Center). They are in where the Wing King used to be. I had lunch there Friday and they were pretty busy. It was nice to see. Also, it was TASTY! Razz

I'm not sure what their weekend hours are - I've only gone there at lunch time so far.

Thanks to you all I went to AJs.... do you people own the place or have a financial interest in it? Not even close to the rep you have created for it. My biggest complaint is the Bread/rolls, I can go buy store variety rolls, if I get a sandwich from a place like this they had better make their own roll or at least oven toast some non factory made rolls.... now I have to question your ratings.... somebody owes me lunch.

I also criticized their rolls; my justification for recommending AJ's was based merely on the fact that it was something new in Chambersburg that's locally owned. Plus I often come across as a sourpuss when I start nitpicking, but walrus, you shouldn't see it as a wasted lunch. You should see it as trying something new and having an informed opinion about it. If your opinion was negative, then we encourage you to share that constructively. I you could have gone to lunch at McDonalds and gotten the same crap you can get anywhere, or you could try something new. Whether or not you like it doesn't matter; what matters i that at least you tried it and here you have a place to share your experience.

my post was meant tongue in cheek, not cows tongue though. I really wasn't expecting a free lunch, and it wasn't that bad, there are much worse things to do for lunch.

BTW, when you get your shop opened, I REALLY want to come and see it. I love, love, love to do pottery. I would love to learn to throw clay, if you are going to do that. I am a painter. I mostly do oils and water color, although I have dabbled in acrylics. Sold quite a few oils while living in Utah.

i am in the process of building up my inventory and will probably open an online store first, just to see how things go. i sometimes do some area festivals (mostly corn fest cuz i live 1 block from the downtown)...if i do any i'll let you guys know! i also paint, draw, printmake, photograph and do jewelry work. i'm sort of all over... Smile but i went to school for clay....
