Does anyone else think the price for public sewer in Mercersburg is outrageous when compared to other area's? And why is the development beside the academy on their own system (therefore not paying PTMA fee's like the rest of the town) I'd also think everyone who lives in the boro would be on the system but that's not the case either.

I think that the sewer rates for Edenville are crazy. We pay 111.00 a quarter...seems crazy that it is more than our water bill

That is high with all of its servicing customers. I can see why ours is high with limited amount of people but Mercersburg is alot bigger than Edenville.

It seems as if everything is getting higher but our salaries aren't Crying or Very sad

I need to check the rates in mercersburg and I'll post them when I get them. I'm alittle confused by some of the comments and questions though. I think your confusing PTMA and Mercersburg.
Noel Mercersburg has its own water and sewer and is not a part of PTMA, although some PTMA customers are hooked on to the Boro water system. Most all boro residents and business are hooked to the boro sewer. Which developement near the Academy is on it's own system? The only developement near the Academy is the Frye and it is located in Montgomery Twnshp, Therefore they do not have to be hooked up to the PTMA or the Boro sewer system.
I won't argue the fact that both water and sewer rates are high especially for small communittes and they are high in Mercersburg my guess the average bill per 1/4 in the boro is $300.00.

The sewer rates for PTMA which includes Mercersburg boro (I should say a good portion of the boro - not everyone) pays 43.00 each month for sewer this does not include water. I have never ran into anyone who's sewer rates were that high. Just wondered if there was a good reason for it?
