| Quote: | NEW YORK (AP) -- A small chemical explosion was reported Monday in the building that houses Fox News, officials said. One person was hurt.
The explosion happened at 10:39 a.m. on the building's 45th floor, which houses the heating and cooling systems for the 47-story building.
"We have some sort of reaction between two chemicals that caused a slight explosion," said fire spokesman Jim Long.
There are no offices on the floor, but three floors were evacuated.
The building is the headquarters for NewsCorp and houses Fox News and the New York Post, which were unaffected. Fox News is in the basement and continued broadcasting without interruption.
The injured person had cuts to the head, officials said. |

Okay, who made Bill O'Reilly's head explode and what did you say to do it?
I know. This isn't funny. It's a serious situation. Probably an attack by Al Qaeda. They aimed right at the heart of all God-fearing Americans.

| You sooooo funny, ha ha ha. I don't know why you pick on Bill OReilly. If I were to pick on anyone it would be Sean Hannity. He is the one who is far right. I use to watch Hannity and Colmes, but began to dislike Hannity as much as I did Colmes. Bill is usually pretty fair. Yeah, thats right, I watch the OReilly Factor and enjoy it. Sometimes he gets his Irish anger flaring but usually for good reason. He allows people from both sides to argue their points. I've even read "Culture Warrior" and found it to be a very interesting read. Not everyone who watches Bill is a Bible thumper and he has a lot of valid, news worthy stuff on his shows. I suppose you are a hard core CNN and MSNBC watcher. Just a guess on my part. They are soooo far to the left that it is frightening. Just one humble persons opinion. |

I'm with you koozie. I watch the factor most nights as well. I agree with some of his opinions, I disagree with others.
I think a lot of his anger is to drive ratings. Get people who don't like him to watch even more. |

He does not allow people from both sides to argue points! He lets people from HIS side argue the point, and then interrupts and belittles the person he disagrees with. It's not a debate; if you agree with everything he says (or he convinces you that his way is right no matter what) then the show is probably great to you. I don't consider it news-worthy because he never goes into the whole story; he reports on the parts of a story that is sympathetic to his point of view.
Seriously, what are you supposed to boycott this week?
And that's how ALL the news networks and these loud, screaming, over-the-top pundits are because it does drive ratings and cable news' only responsibility is to increase the wealth of their parent company's shareholders.
I question the current-events knowledge of anyone who gets all their info from a single source, especially if it's a loud-mouth radio or talk show pundit, right or left, liberal or conservative. Try PBS or NPR for a change... you won't believe how weird news and information sounds when it's not intercut by screaming or details on Paris Hilton's last bowel movement. |

Why, yes, as a matter of fact I do watch MSNBC. Morning Joe with former GOPpie congressman Joe Scarborough and frequent commentor Pat Buchanan in the morning, Chris Matthews on Hardball in the evening, Tim Russert on Sundays and every once in awhile I even watch Olbermann. (gasp!) If I want to froth at the mouth with irritation, I watch Tucker Carlson.
Sadly, I have no need for Faux News:
I get all my fake news from The Onion, Colbert and Stewart.
If I want to see bimbos in mini skirts I can watch E! network.
Righteous indignation from slimeballs who have no right to be righteous, hmmm well, I just don't want that at all, so I couldn't tell you where else to find it...a church with a perv for a preacher, maybe?
What I really think is a shame is that you cannot see the complete stupidity of that man. He often speaks falsely, never corrects himself and so his viewers walk around spewing detritus themselves.
I don't understand why someone who has access to unlimited information (the internet, public libraries, at least TWO college campuses nearby) would allow themselves to be spoonfed moronics by one televison channel. Is our country and our issues not worth the extra work of being informed? _________________ Nevermind. |

| The examples of O'Reilly's hypocrisy are all over the Internet; just search his name on YouTube... the examples aren't flattering. |

| I never said I didn't watch any other news source, did I? And as far as the being on the internet, or going to the library, I seriously don't have time for that. I'm lucky to have time to read the PO or even watch much TV news. I'm usually making supper or doing dishes or just sitting down trying to take a breather from the rush of the day. I do enjoy coming on here in what spare time I have and catching up on the rants and raves of those who post their opinions in this forum and most times just sit here and chuckle at most of the stuff that is said and don't even bother to post my two cents worth just because I know this is the kind of stuff that would be spewed back as it seems to me that most posters are of the leftist persuasion and Lord forbid any other opinion be brought forth by someone who might be riding down the middle of the road or a little to the right. So, there is my rant and rave for the day....Merry Xmas to those of you who are afraid to use Christ in Christmas and to those of you who aren't afraid to say it "HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS" |

Agreed; but we need a little koozie element... don't be scared koozie! I don't recall singling you out or maliciously attacking your opinion. But debate ends when people degrade into a rant like that.
Happy Holidays to you to though; whichever holiday you choose to celebrate. Let me guess... is it Kwanzaa? It's Kwanzaa isn't it?

I'm sorry if I appeared to be short. Okay, I admit it. Koozie your last post is a non-starter to me. It seemed to be one of those, "Well, I'm right and you're wrong and I'm taking my ball and going home and God loves you...even though you're wrong!"
That is what it seemed like at first read and frankly, I get a little sick of that attitude with people...It's unAmerican. (Yes, I realize that many citizens these days act that way, but it doesn't make it right.)
Coppy's right.

| I'm sorry that you took me that way. I'm definitely not the kind who thinks they are right all the time and everyone else is wrong. But, it sure does seem as if that is the way it is with the regulars on here, that if anyone new comes in and goes against the fray, they are shot down and made to feel that their opinion is null and void, especially those of us who aren't on the left and don't see your points of view on all things. That is probably the reason there are so few newbies on here. Just like with chel's response of "oh christ", says alot without saying much at all. |

When you claim that Bill O is some kind of fair reporter / commenter and that you agree with his viewpoints, it kind of defines who you are & where you come from politically. Is Ann Coulter also one of your fair sources for political news?
I listen to a lot of political shows and can usually weed out the crap from the truth.
On occaision, I watch olberman. Keith can be over te edge at times but his "special comments are usually on target - saying things in plain English that need to be said. Chris Matthews and Tim Russert are typically fair although Chris, a Republican, is rather angry at Bush & Co - as should each & every Republican.
I happen to be a Republican and called a liberal Democrat all the time. It doesn't bother me as being a Republican these days is rather embarrassing. |
