Why was this featured on Hagertown's news but not in our Chambersburg paper?
CHAMBERSBURG, PA - There was a school bus accident in Pennsylvania, but there were no children on the school bus and no injuries were reported.

The bus was only one of many other cars that slid off of Social Island Road in Franklin County Wednesday afternoon.

Members of the Marion Volunteer Fire Company directed traffic around the icy portion while others worked to get the drivers back on the road.

Fire officials say all parts of Social Island Road have been re-opened.

I guess the po couldn't make it down to do a news story?? Mad

I think the PO must be put to bed earlier than the Hagerstown paper. Sometimes they are stuff that is not in the PO even though it appeares to be a good story.

This partivular event would certaily cast doubt on the decision to even try to have school or, perhaps, a story on township road care. I went out around 11 AM but turned around as our township road had not been touched. I wondered if anything would be done by the time the buses would return.

I don't work for the PO. However I do freelance work for them. One PA trooper I talked to that day said he had been to 50 accidents already (nearly around 3pm). So to report on all minor accidents like this would be insane. The school bus wasn't involved in an accident so much as it was just stranded on Social Island Rd.

Main accident was a van that went over an embankment by the 1-lane bridge on Social Island Rd.

The bus you are talking about can be seen in the picture below (in the middle of the road on top of the hill facing down)
