Cafe D'italia is slated to open their doors at the end of this week, either Thursday or Friday. I had a chance to taste test some of their food this past week. The subs were wonderful, filling was tasty and the bread they use is real light and flavorful. Another night I had a dinner item. Spaghetti and meat balls. Done very well. Spaghetti was cooker proper, the sause is home made and very good, and the meat balls very superb. The prices are surprisingly reasonable and the menu has a very nice offering. I myself will be a regular patron.
The decor is out of sight. The owner has put a tremendous amount of time and money to create a very warm atmosphere. Their location is on the city square, between Tito's and the Sprint store in downtown Chambersburg.
Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very Happy

Sounds awesome! And, may add... how'd you get lucky enough to sample their food!?

Just a few questions; do you know what their hours/days open will be?

I guess you answered another question, that they'll definitely have lunch and dinner menus. I'm guessing subs, sandwiches and panini's. I'm expecting a similar menu to Cafe Del Sol in Greencastle and Hagerstown; but freshly baked bread would put them way over the top. I do hope the PO will do a story on them this week...

And, I should point out that the Bistro 71's sign is finally up and I'm am VERY excited about this restaurant, will be utilizing an economic development liquor license.

These two places alone may be the building blocks toward a revitalized downtown.

I was invited over by the owner. I have been following his progress since he started the remodeling of that building. He has purchased a few products from my store and part of my customer service is to check on how those products are working for him. The other part is just to show my support for all the effort his is putting into that Cafe. I believe the hours will be Mon-Thurs. 11am-8pm. I think on Friday and Saturday they will be open till 9pm.
Bistro 71 is comming along. The contractors are working very hard to help get it open as soon as possible. Barb and Larry have some great plans for the place. I heard that Larry has hired a chef.
