| LOL. Well I guess that could be a plus, huh. LOL I have no problem with a little medial labor. LOL Many women don't like to pump their own gas, but I have no problem. |

When NJ's new governor, Corzine, took office he suggested moving away from all full-service stations to more self-serve in an effort to save money on rising gas prices. The residents of NJ went nuts over this, and demanded that they remain full-serve. Many life-long residents even claimed that they don't know how to pump gas, particularly elderly ones.
So, that was sort of quietly forgotten. New Jersey and Oregon remain the only two states with mandated full service gas stations.
Ironically, gas stations on the NJ Turnpike often sell some of the cheapest gas in the country. |

But what I said was that they need to come up with a solution for the problem with civil unions and pass it so that it is recognized just the same as being married. With the way some people are nowaday, they don't want it to be considered a marriage. They would probably need to call it a civil union but give it the same rights as marriage. Sounds ridiculous, but that is probably how they would have to do it. Only because there are those who think marriage is just for straight people. So, if they could just call it a civil union with perks, then I think maybe it may not rile those people up. But, then again, I could be wrong. |

| Based on that, yes that would be fine, but also there is the fact that no matter what you call it, there is still going to be an issue with it being called that because there are so many people against gay partnerships and they would still have something to complain about no matter what. I do agree with you, I would be willing to have a civil union with all the perks or whatever they want to call it, no matter how you look at it, people will just have to come to grips, times are changing and gays will have their glory some day too. |

I cant speak for Chambersburg, but I know that Shipp use to really be racial. I can remember whenpeople would only go the the Cumberland, or Silver Spring drive Inn because the one in Chambersburg had African Americans there. S freaking stupid |
I know that Shipp has had some issues but it seems that Chbg is following in their footsteps. |
Here is why I know Shipp hasn't changed too much because I was talking to a person living in Shipp and when I brought up Chambersburg his exact quote was " George, you have no idea how it has changed, so many Hispanics live there now that the black came to Shipp to live" That is one of the most racial lines I ever heared anyone say. |
I don’t see what you think is so racist about this statement. Actually I think you’re darn pretty fortunate if this is one of the most racist lines you’ve ever heard. The fact is Chbg has seen a large influx of Hispanics into areas historically populated by blacks in Chambersburg. I know for a fact some of these black families have moved because of this. Now if you want to say a family is racist for not wanting to live beside someone of a different race then I can agree, but I don’t necessarily think your friend in Ship is a racist for reporting these facts. |

He was upset that the Hispanics drove the "blacks" into his white bread town of Shipp. _________________ Read My Blog

About 30 years ago, I played fast-pitch softball for an elite team near Sacramento, CA. My ex-sister-in-law and I were the only straight women on the team. We had some of the most fantastic parties! I had only one request. When it was time for the party to be at my home, I asked the girls to please keep the PDA to the bare minimum. Same for my sister-in-law. We were all a great bunch of friends!
It burns the heck out of me that my cousin who is gay has become the outcast of our family. He was disowned by EVERYONE ('cept my Grandma and I). Now he is a junkie, living day to day and his parents don't even know where he lives. (I do.)
I believe that homosexuality is nature. You're either born that way or not. Seeing a Mom getting dressed is not going to make a son gay. Playing on softball, volleyball or basketball teams certainly won't turn a girl lesbian. Although watching to much Rosie might. j/k! _________________ Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know 'why' I look this way.
I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved. |

Queen of Hearts,
It is rather unfortunate that your cousin has seen the harsh truth of family cruelty. I am sorry to hear that. Althought you are correct, actions does not turn a person gay, neither does certain activities or something bad that may have happened in that person's life.
I have heard that from plenty people, they say, "Oh, what happened to turn you that way. Did a guy not treat you right, did you have a rough life or ....." Blah, blah blah blah blah
You do not turn gay and someone does not push you into it and you certainly just don't wake up one morning and say, Oh well, I am going to be gay today. LOL. Come on people, be real. Open your eyes. |

I think there could be many reasons, and possible combinations thereof, as for why people are gay/bi/lesbian. I don't think we should over simplify, or over generalize, the complexity of human persons; all of whom are worthy of respect as persons. _________________ alex |

Racism. Bigotry,
Can only be stopped,
By Humanity.
These are learned traits.
All that is needed is Humanity,
Compassion, Education, and Mass Extermination.
What I am trying to express is that the idea of somehow luring the racists and bigots to simultaneous pigroasts/rodeos/Toby Kieth concerts/ etc. all over the World , and then exterminating them en masse with napalm or some other compassionate means is only the first baby step to educating the public on human rights.
I guess I did a bad job of expressing my thoughts...
Gay vs Straight (Hetro):
For me they are OBsolete Words. Because just for me, if I wanted to have sex with a woman and she wants me (this could never happen, by the way) then we have made an agreement between us on the emotional level.
If I decided I want to have oral sex with a good looking guy (this could never happen either, by the way) and he wants me too then he and I have made an emotional agreement. It has nothing to do with what kind of lifestyle one lives. I've known men who i would have sworn were gay by their lifestyle and they were more hetro than i could ever hope to be.
tolerance through Love. Some concept. |
