Very Happy

Ice cream is one the 'foods' that is easiest for me to justify because it tastes the same coming up as it does going down!

Mixed with pizza though, I dunno

March 28, 2008: slacktivism

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=slacktivism&defid=304835

The act of participating in obviously pointless activities as an expedient alternative to actually expending effort to fix a problem.

Signing an email petition to stop rampant crime is slacktivism. Want to really make your community safer? Get off your *** and start a neighborhood watch!

April 10, 2008: Irregardless

Without lack of disregard.

Joey: Irregardless, she's a [beeyatch].
Beth: Irregardless isn't even a word.
Joey: Yes, it is. It means without lack of disregard.

Don't *** off the copy editors!

From the AP Stylebook:

irregardless A double negative. Regardless is correct.

ok.....so....i totally came up with a new trend yesterday driving home.....

i think there should be a 'retro' cell phone come out...one of those big clunky ones in the bags (like the first one i ever had) and with the giant antennas and have coach or kate spade trick ppl into thinking that these phones are AWESOME and you HAVE to have it so they make designer bags for them....and you'll see these oh-so-trendy ppl walking thru the streets with these giant, huge, bulking phones....

it's just too funny of an idea to not become a trend. LOL...

Quote:
The word for April 27 is Blue Falcon

A general Marine Corps term, meaning "Buddy F**ker". It usually refers to a Marine who is supposed to use the "Buddy System", but chooses to leave his buddies hanging while he goes ahead without them.

Sgt Petey knew Sgt B would be arriving soon, but instead chose to leave without him..."What a Blue Falcon!"

For anyone who reads Urban Dictionary, I just want to point out that Blue Falcon is NOT just a Marine Corp term. (I will refrain from ranting about Marines get all the credit when they don't deserve a quarter of it...your welcome.)
I don't even know that most Marines could spell Falcon!

It also means more than just 'leaving your buddy behind'.

And the word buddy, in a military sense, doesn't mean friend so much as it refers to 'battle buddy.'
A fellow service member who is designated to watch your back, and you theirs, in the field.
At home you may think they are a total dirtbag, but you don't go out of your way to leave them hanging.

Calling it the 'buddy system' is just wrong---it ain't about no field trip, trust me on that!

So, a Blue Falcon would be a fellow unit member who effs you over for no particular reason, for minor convenience or to make themselves look better.

Civilian application could refer to a co-worker, friend, political party member etc.

Whew. Well, I feel better now! Very Happy
