My wife said she was in town yesterday and there is a Lowe's going in. Plus she stopped at Rutters and they told her that they are building a KFC/Taco Bell and a Olive Garden next... WoW if they put in a 4 screen movie center I will crap myself... Anyone remember the old College Cinema? One screen with the same movie for 6 weeks. _________________ Read My Blog

I can almost garuantee that there will be no liquor license. And that is a crying shame. They bring all of this shopping and other crap to that once peaceful area, build it up, and the only add fast food joints.
I'd like to see an "OutBack" over there, personally. _________________ Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know 'why' I look this way.

Hahahahah!
I swear that every single community getting new construction has EVERYONE saying "did you hear an Olive Garden is coming????" People get excited, word spreads... before you know it, everyone's all ready for the Olive Garden and then it turns out that it was never going to happen (and then it gets blamed on liquor licenses, which, to be fair, is usually the problem).
Yes, the Taco Bell/KFC is coming (finally, fried chicken chalupas for all!) and it was widely reported, but I've never seen anything about an Olive Garden. It's the South-Central PA pipe dream. Shippensburg has no liquor licenses to spare. I remember Knute's bought the license that used to be Connie B's and until another place closes, that's all there is.
Speaking of KFC, do you guys love those bowls or what? Let's just throw all the crap on the menu in a bowl! And cover it in gravy and cheese, and people will eat it! Sure, we could separate these items on a plate for you like an adult, but no, you want to eat it out of a bowl! Totally looks delicious |

Totally looks disgusting.
Except now I want to stop at KFC on my way home from work...but NOT for one of those gross bowls. |

I'm certainly not anti-KFC, and I do consider Taco Bell an extremely guilty pleasure (it's all that MSG!).
I don't know about you guys, but this doesn't quite look like the advertising:

MMMMmm. Gravy, Cheese, and Chicken!! Who needs the corn and 'taters?!!
*drool*
BTW, Papa John's 'new' Rustic Tuscan Meats pizza is rather tasty. I'm not so sure what is so rustic about meats and I replaced the red onions and green peppers (which turn your brains to mush BTW) with black olives and...IDK bacon, I think?
I know, I know, I'm a horrible person, I bought a non-unique chain pizza, but I was too tired to go out to the Pizza Factory (I AM going to make it there one day, I swear) and Coppy hasn't finished the Pizza Tournament...what's a girl to do? _________________ Nevermind. |

Actually Hardee's did not get into the Chicken business until they bought out Roy Rogers _________________ Read My Blog

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!
Wait a second... what's that? Red onions and green peppers turn your brains to bush? OH my chel, I must say, I live off of an extremely regular diet that consists of a lot of red onion, green/red peppers, not to mention copious amounts of garlic (that's ok, isn't it?).
Now, I'm a foodie as you know and I don't just like food but I read books about it and watch the food people on TV... you know, the regular stuff. And I have to say that I have never, ever heard of any sort of adverse health effects associated with red onion or bell peppers; in fact, bell peppers are considered a "super vegetable" because of their extremely high amounts of Vitamins C and D, an excellent source of fiber and not to mention those antioxidants that they say just may fight cancer. And I'm having trouble finding how black olives (virtually empty calories compared to their wonderful, green cousins) and bacon (can't fault you there, bacon is friggin delicious) is a better option.
So, I know a lot of people who absolutely refuse to eat onions and/or peppers for various reasons; but I'm curious to hear the brain mush thing because if it's true, growing up in the family I did, my brains should look like a KFC bowl right about now |
