So today I have a menu stuffed in my door for a new pizza place and I figure Hey "it's Nextflix Movie Night" so why not. I order a small cheese pie for my daughter and a cheesestek deluxe sub for me. It shows up and the pizza is freaking typical Ohio Pizza which means extra thin crust cut into 2"x2" squares. And the Cheese steak? Well for some reason the "steak" is a block of something molded into a replica of the roll. ***? Twisted Evil

It's not much better here dude... thankfully for you, I'm going through the ultimate sacrifice of holding a pizza tournament to find out what places are good and which aren't.

But a good rule of thumb is to avoid places that serve that square "cut" pizza.

I beg to differ about the square pizza. Once upon a time, there was Frank's Pizza in Cburg on Derbyshire St. Their pizza was delish. At .25 a slice, you couldn't go wrong, especially when you are late teens, early twenties and didn't have a lot of money to spend. Those were the days. How I wish Franks was still around. RIP Frank Coccagna.

frank lived in the same neighborhood as my grandparents (which i go there pretty much every day of my life) and it's sad to see the "old" generations passing on. bah, time. why aren't you on our side?

I like a good, square Sicilian-style pie (although I also prefer NY/Neopolitan style by far).

pizza joes in western pa had pretty good pizza, and it was square. not exactly sicilian, but it was moderately thick. pizza perfect in wilkes-barre has probably the number 1 or 2 pizza i've had in my life (oil baked in pans) and they're square.
