not really.
at this point pc's have advanced to the point where they pretty much do what used to be a mac thing.
the interfaces are prettier and macs are trendy

so laughing gave his biased opinion, now let me give you my biased opinion. i started life as a mac girl. went to grad school and bought a pc cuz i couldn't afford a new mac (i had one of those lovely perfomas hehe...it still runs actually lol)....that HP gave me a lot of grief. it eventually died, i got another pc and felt the waves of discontentment. after a few terms of teaching, i thought 'eff it! i'm buying a mac' and i got one of those eMacs (what a beast...heavy as hades but man it's the little engine that could...just gave it to my parents as their dell is on the fritz)...i got a macbook pro 17" laptop and it's been a dream. i have an iMac as well and i bought a toshiba pc to play some gamese. it's ok. no problems yet. but, i don't know...there's just something about macs for me.
so, yeah, the gap is closing on the two and mac is duel boot etc etc but i think it boils down to your personailty...you either prefer macs or pcs.

Cookie you are so Nerdy.. LOL I have a image of you looking like Tina Fey when she wears her glasses ( and I am not saying it is a bad thing) Anyhow my close friend has been a Mac Man since it beginning. In fact both him and his wife teach MAc at HACC and they call it the Mac Pak... When I asked him what the difference is he said it is like owning the fastest and most expensive luxury car you could buy, but being only able to drive in on 40% of the roads. _________________ Read My Blog

i started my life as a mac girl too.
er um actually my first computer was a zenith and it had this fun game called Archon in it and the side-perferated paper was fun to print banners on(though i was often chided for wasting paper) but in school we had macs
it was a bad time for us all. _________________ "Nothing is more precious to me than the smile of a child"- Joseph Stalin |

I recommend Macs for two people; computer novices and those into graphical design (taking pictures, making movies, etc. etc.). Yes, PC's can certainly do everything a Mac can and more, but it's just much easier and more straightforward with Apple. Plus, you don't really have to concern yourself with viruses, malware and such. That said, i would never use one myself, but I see the appeal. I think they're all overpriced, as you're paying a premium simply for having a Mac and all the trendy hipness that goes along with it.
I do not recommend the MacBook Air to anyone though. Anyone who actually works with computers knows that the more computer crap you cram into a small space, the less efficient that computer is (and far more prone to hardware failure, which is a scary thing on the Air considering they have no replaceable parts).
Fun fact: from the infamous Mac vs. PC commercials, "Mac Guy" (Justin Long) uses a Dell and "PC Guy" (the hilarious John Hodgeman) uses a Mac. He tells a great story about walking into an Apple Store one day and the place went nuts.
I'll never be sold on the super-trendy iPhone, but their coolness factor is indisputable. I'm holding out for Google's Android phone myself. |

| yeah...macs rock for graphics (arty girl)...pcs are good for flash and dreamweaver but a tad more inefficient w/the other design software. |

That is why I hate Macs.... but the iPhone is sexy; I don't own a phone at all, but it sure is a sexy bit of tech _________________ "Nothing is more precious to me than the smile of a child"- Joseph Stalin |
