Lancaster in PA and Lancaster in N.H are spelt the same but we say Langcaster. The word wicked comes out of my mouth alot to. Not the bad wicked but. "that was wicked good" |

at a mates of state concert i went to, the opening act for them said: ty for having us Langcaster...and the crowd yelled back (top o'lungs) IT"S LANKASTER....
LOL.....the band was like: huh??? |

Not really a PA-ism but what is Gone Missing or Went Missing? It always cracked me up as a totally hillbilly term then I heard a newswoman say it on CNN when talking about the Natalie Hollaway case in Aruba  |

| depends on where you are at the time the word aunt is being used. usually here in chambersburg, i hear ant, (unless a transplant is speaking) and just down the road, aunt is used. i grew up in this hick area for the first 18 years of my life saying ant, youins, red up, cooshin, poosh, and the whole bit. then i travelled and lived, with my job, to many cities and have heard ALL KINDS OF ISM'S. now i come back here, and its back to ant, red-up and the like. it ain't so bad. |

I grew up near Gettysburg, and it bugs me that many people pronounce it Gettisburg. The town was named after a guy named Getty not Gettis! |

people around quincy say things are "about half"
as in "What you just done was half simple"
I'm told that we PA residents have an accent and do not pronounce "L" properly. like in school or milk or book.

| I always thought the Central PA accent was mainly an over-pronunciation of vowel sounds, especially o's. |

that sounds like a speech impediment. It is never fun to make fun of people with speech impediments, unless its Barbara Walters
yeah, and how about amblance instead of ambulence(or however u spell it- I'm not looking it up)
