OK I have been gone a long time so I need an update, when I was around 95.1 ( I think Wikz) or Whisky 95 was top 40. and if you wanted Rock you had to hope that 104.1 was clear ( back when it was rock) or you were really out of luck.

But my likes have changed as I NPR, News Talk 580 out of HBG, Jazz, Classic Rock, 80's...

I got you covered...

I've ranted and raved about NPR stations for a while; there used to be a WETA affiliate out of Hagerstown that came in crystal clear, but they switched to all-classical... which is fine by me, but I need my Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Fresh Air, Car Talk and This American Life just to get through the week...

So, you have to options, neither of which comes in very clear. WITF out of Harrisburg is a better station overall at 89.5. But, it doesn't come in as clearly as West Virginia Public Radio, I can't remember the exact affiliate station that comes in, but I think it's in the low 90 range.

Wink 104 is all adult contemporary now, and 95.1 is so awful it's beyond mentioning. I listen to the River out of HBG since it comes in, 98.3 I think...

I loved the River 97.3 WRVV Remember I lived in HBG from 98-2005. I need to hear my News Talk 580 so I can hear Durgin and Noel Faulk the plant doctor. I take it that 93.5 does not reach? Any ones with HD Stations? Wink 104.1 is no longer top 40? WOW... No Jazz

Jazz? Not that I know of.

The River is still good; classic rock, 80's, some new stuff. I'm not sure about HD stations, but none around here... 104.1 switched to adult contemporary about 5 years ago, right around the time Bruce Bond got canned.

I have to say, I enjoyed Bruce and Stretch.

The Chiro I worked for treated Bruce and Stretch, in fact we even took our advertising off of 104.1 to the other station that they went to for awhile. Now Bruce is in NY and Stretch is back at 104.1 I was so shocked when I found out that "The Jammer" from 93.5 passed away.

I listened to Bruce and Stretch on "the other station" (who knows what it even was) that summer they had the morning show. Trailer Park Trivia just doesn't have the same effect at 7 o'clock in the morning, but it was still enjoyable.

I won a $20 gift certificate to the Capital City Mall one morning answering a trivia question on my way to work in New Cumberland.

Last I heard, Bruce Bond was on an episode of Cash Cab.

I think that it is funny that I seem to prefer the complete opposite as you, Coppy. I listen to The Razor 102.9 (same as 93.3, I think) No talk, no commercials, No BS........just music all day!! The only station I listen to. It is broadcast locally out of Chambersburg, and if I get past their zone, I just put in a cd.

Coppy likes it when people disagree with him. It makes him feel 'edgy' Laughing

we have a station out here called Fly 92.9 (Jack FM) all music, no Dj's, and they do have commercial breaks but only once a hour.

That's ok mom4... it does make me feel 'edgy.' Razz

Or something like that.

I'll try the Razor sometime, but I'm switching off if I hear one Celine Dion song!

Honestly, I mostly listen to podcasts if not NPR... and since I like indie music (surprise, surprise) I usually have to go hunt it down myself.

I think there's a DJ-free station in Harrisburg called KISS. I think it's awful since Top 40 music now makes me nauseous, but it's popular.

What is that country station in Hagerstwon? WAYZ 104 or 101.4? They have some funneh chicks in the morning. Country hick Suzy with her fake southern hillbilly drawl sure crack me up. But I like what they play. And I like to hear the traffic toiubles.
