I was there last weekend... fantastic.
I can't believe that so many people don't know (or care) about this place.
It's truly the type of independent, beer-serving, quality, casual dining establishment that Chambersburg is in desperate need of.
Oh, right... beer-serving. That's not allowed here if you're not a chain that can afford a half million dollar liquor license.
Oh well, guess I'll just keep spending my hard earned PA money in MD. |

First of all- Thanks for all the positive comments re: Hempen Hill BBQ Bar & Grill. As an independent restaurant we strive to provide the best food & drink to you! So thank you!
Second, let me set the record straight for you on our beers:
Yes: Hempen Hill BBQ never brewed our own beers. We featured 4 of Barley & Hops (Brew Pub in Frederick, MD). We had them for about 10 months until the distributor decided to stop carrying all microbeers from their route and left us high and dry (no pun intended).
Long story short, we now carry beers from Baltimore (Clipper City Golden Ale, Oxford Organic Amber Ale), Frederick (Backfin Pale Ale that used to be brewed by Claypipe brewing which is now closed), Lancaster Brewing (Milk Stout, Strawberry Wheat- we did have their Celtic Red, but have rotated it out for now) Troegs (Harrisburg based) Vermont Brewing (Magic Hat #9- while it's not local it is a great microbeer)...we rotate often so you just don't know what you may find on draught at Hempen Hill BBQ. |
