It's not just for schizophrenia. My son takes it. At times, he's all over the place: hyper, creative, imaginative, manic and hard to follow in ways that makes my inattentive type ADD look organized and coherent.

He's a great (if exhausting) kid that I haven't found appropriate channels for, yet and some of your posts--- the randomness that blurts out, reminds me of him.

I wikipedia'ed the medication and said it was a schizophrenia treatment. It could have said more, I just read the first line and that said schizophrenia...... no bigs.

by channels do you mean like forum channels or outlets for creativity/energy?

have you tried colage (my spell check is broke, I mean cutting crap up and gluing it together) for your son? (I have no idea what age it might be), but that is omething I enjoy. I get pretty ADD at times, and though I have not been diagnosed with anything, I strongly worry that I might be bipolar (though I came to this conclusion after a documentary on Winston Churchill-who they think was bipolar because he never slept), I find it funn/relaxing to cut into paper and glue crap to other crap. I just glued a frying pan to a canvas...... can't wait to paint it.

I don't know about medication, or ritalin, or any of this crazy hyper talk.
Speaking out of experience, ritalin makes me more hyper...like, normally running around screaming, yelling, talking really fast, and generally being an annoying nuisance. Ritalin creates this psychotic, wallclimbing blur of a persona that emminates energy and destroys civilization as we know it....But then again, vicaden, morphine, and all those fun knock out drugs make me hyper.

as for the whole troll thing....I'm not entirley sure what you mean by "troll", as strange as that may sound...

ducky, it sounds like you really shouldn't be on ritalin.

cause in "normal people", ritalin makes them hyper... thats why druggies steal it.
