W. Pa. woman accused of beating sister with prosthetic leg

By Associated Press January 20, 2008

Last updated: Sunday, January 20, 2008 6:50 PM EST

IRWIN, Pa. (AP) — A Westmoreland County woman has been accused of using her sister's prosthetic leg to beat her on the head and face.

Police said Donna Sturkie-Anthony, 41, beat her 43-year-old sister, Sherrie Lynn Gibson, on Wednesday. They said they arrived at the pair's home in the Lincoln Mobile Home Trailer Park after receiving a request for an ambulance after midnight.

Police said they found blood on the floor and around the couch, where Gibson was lying, conscious but bleeding from head and face wounds. Police said Gibson told them her sister had struck her repeatedly with her prosthetic leg.

Sturkie-Anthony, already wanted for previous charges, was jailed in the Westmoreland County Prison on several assault charges relating to the alleged beating. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 25.

I'm so sorry

that I laughed...

All those years as a domestic abuse advocate, and I still laughed, shame, shame on me!

You laughed because it's funny. Sometimes sad things are funny. I mean, if I got beat up by a prosthetic limb, I'd be upset at first. That would suck. But then, eventually, I'd have to laugh. Because, come on... that's funny stuff.

It's like laughing at the Darwin Awards. Sure it's in poor taste, but it's not like have a radio show I could get fired from or something.

I love, love, love the Darwin Awards!

My dear 'ole decrepit Dad sends me all of those as soon as they come out. He sends me some of the kookiest e-mails! I so look forward to them! He has always been funny but the closer he gets to the century mark, the more humorus he gets; and he still recognizes himself in the mirror every morning!

Uhhh. What?

Need I say emphasis is my own.

Quote:
Hagerstown, Md.
ACCIDENT: The occupants of two vehicles that crashed when a Middletown, Md., woman swerved to miss a squirrel crossing U.S. 40 in Hagerstown escaped serious injury, but the squirrel was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
Amy Deosaran, 32, was eastbound on the alternate U.S. 40 near Moser Road at 1:47 p.m. when the squirrel ran in front of her Acura MDX. She swerved to avoid the squirrel, colliding with a westbound vehicle driven by Philip N. Kisner, 58, of Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Deosaran and her 9 year-old-son, who was seated in a child safety restraint in the right rear of the Acura, were transported to Washington County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Maryland State Police.
Karen Lynn Kisner, 50, were taken to the same hospital, also with non-life-threatening injuries. Philip Kisner refused treatment. Police said all the adult occupants of both vehicles were wearing seatbelts.
Deosaran received a traffic citation, police said.
The squirrel was pronounced dead at the scene by investigating troopers after it tried to recross the road and was hit by another motorist.
Boonsboro Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff's Department assisted with the investigation.

Bizarre food festivals

Since chomping a bit of gravel can cause some serious dental problems, the good folks of Pocahontas County, West Virginia's Roadkill Cook Off have wisely limited entrants to cooking up non-roadkill animals, which in no way diminishes the excitement of trying out the rabbit, crow, possum and other wild delights dished up by these very serious competitors. The next festival will be held Sept. 27, 2008, in Marlinton, W. Va.

That's it.
I'm making a list of local attractions and this is going to be on it!
Family and friends think all we have up her is Hershey Park (which isn't really all that) and Gettysburg.

Serenely, I too laugh at the prostetic beating.
As for the squirrel bit, I only wish to know, was the squirrels family notified and the proper arrangements made for his passing?
Side note: Did anyone stop to think that perhaps the squirrel was in it to end it? And if so, do we stop to wonder why?

And on the food festivities....what's the fun of a roadkill cookoff, without the meat tenderizing done only so well as can be by the weight of a vehicle?

Mini-Me Sex Tape: Avert Your Eyes!

Yes, that's Mini-Me Verne Troyer in a sex tape shot with his former live-in girlfriend at the couple's apartment. A third party has snatched up the tape and although no deal has been made, we hear dealer Kevin Blatt, who brokered the deal for Paris' video, is entertaining a $100k offer from SugarDVD to distribute the nastiness. We would have thought the tape was worth at least ONE BILLION DOLLARS.

A rep for Troyer could not be reached for comment.

A sneak preview clip can be found here. I watched an edited version (the tongue was smilied out) and am still scarred (it's 'just' kissing---kissing like Michael Jackson and Lisa-Marie Pressley or Al and Tipper Gore....ACK!!)

chel, your knack of finding the obscene, amusing, or down right odd news never ceases to amaze, me at least.

As for the tape...........................................
um, no. I'll pass. Some things just aren't meant to be viewed by my poor little eyes.

Oh yeah, I saw that and made the mistake of watching...GAH!

Now, Verne Troyer is suing TMZ, alleging that "TMZ violated his right of publicity and misappropriated his name and likeness."
