affordable senior housing...i know many boomers who are retiring this year and can not find affordable housing. they are NOT looking for $300,000.00 homes. they are downsizing, and looking for something maintenance free...no snow shoveling...no grass cutting...etc. Chambersburg business developers can do it. (It has been started with a few developments of such).

Speaking of proofreading, I was just editing an article here at work that was talking about "digital television fur." What the heck is television fur?

On a completely unrelated topic, this just broke my heart Laughing

Quote:
"It's the end to a lot of sleepless nights."

Those words from Allgood Groceries owner Josh Blanthorn sum up the feelings of many associated with the Earlysville supermarket.

A call Tuesday from Albemarle County police led Blanthorn to the Cedar Hill trailer park, where Harry the Hot Dog, after going missing for almost three weeks, was found.

"We had offered for [the culprits] to bring him back with no charges, but apparently they buried the poor dog alive," Blanthorn said.

Investigators had to dig Harry from a field, rescuing him, but not without injuries.

"[We're] kind of disappointed we got him back in the shape we did (broken arms, injured foot), but we'll send him to the hot dog hospital for some rehabilitation and get his arms working again and hopefully have him back out in front of the customers soon," said Allgood General Manager David Dewberry.

Police tell store management they're hot on the trail of the people responsible for Harry's heist, likely, they say, a group of kids who will face charges when they're caught.

In the meantime, Harry's return is cause for celebration.

"He was our mascot," Blanthorn explained. "He was our little hot dog...and the kids love him."

"The children were really upset about the loss of Harry," Dewberry said. "He's part of the Allgood family."

"Harry's actually got a son, a small Harry, we call him Frank," Blanthorn added, "and he's been at the store holding up a sign asking for where his daddy was."

That sign now reads "Thank you for finding my daddy."

While the management at Allgood has taken this in good humor, police investigating say property theft is no laughing matter. They've told the store that while they believe this was done by a group of kids, those kids could find themselves in serious trouble. Harry's estimated value is in the thousands of dollars.

rumor or truth?

a new mall that's "bigger" than the target one going up on radio hill? just curious. what, is walmart jealous and they wanna open another one. gawd. (i had heard the walmart on radio hill rumors a while ago...)

why can't we get a wegmans? (i'm sorry coppy...i know, i know...)

not sure a second mall is necessary. why not make the new one "GOOD"

great...another mediocre, lack-lustre cookie cutter mall?

SIGH.

maybe it'll have a dollar store, a sub shop and a pizza store. you know..something different. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

it's only dead if you let it die...
let it live in your heart and mind, and when the time is right...as they say...

"If you build it, they will come."

So Ames is like a parasite? Or a mental disease?

I don't want anything else in my head!

And my heart (already rock with an icy coating, is three sizes too small! I don't have room!) >whine<

Ames was a chain of discount stores based in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. The chain went bankrupt in 2002 and all stores were closed that year.

RIP Crying or Very sad

I'm surprised Chambersburg doesn't still have a Woolworth's
