Obviously you haven't spent any time in a class room lately; or if you have it was with our glorious Superintendent and his mob on a 30 second walk through. This school administration doesn’t give a crap about the most important element in education- the student! It is all about wheeling and dealing power, ego trips and surrounding themselves with “Yes Men”. If the parents in this community would spend half as much time being involved with their kids and the school, as they do going to yard sales, maybe the teachers wouldn’t have so many problems. |
Well, I can't argue with that; but I'd argue that the problem isn't the educators so much as it is the school board members who are blissfully ignorant when it comes to the actual foundations of educations... money, money, money. That's all that matters, and it's such a shame when we're talking about our future. |
You are right. It is not the educators (i.e. teacher). If you are referring to the school administration- they are so far out of touch with the classroom that they have little to no idea what is taking place. You know the old business strategy- if they can’t do the job, make them a supervisor. All those administrators are the ones that could not handle the classroom. Now they try to dictate how to accomplish what they themselves could not do. And the school board- they are nothing more than puppets for the Superintendent. Now we have the biggest “Yes Man” of all, at the top. Of course they want money- that’s what they are told to do and they certainly would not what to defy the “boss”.
The future of our children will never hold the place of importance it deserves as long as the administration of our schools is held in the pockets of politicians; and teachers are the last people to have meaningful input into what is needed to educate our kids |
