I read Pastor Yeun's comments in the article about the above mentioned intersection. I couldn't agree with him more. I travel Edenville road into Chambersburg on a daily basis and I too say a prayer every time I enter that section of road. The traffic coming south on Letterkenny Road have a 25 MPH sign, but that doesn't stop folks from going 40+ over a blind hill. The least that needs to occur is have a State Trooper sit at the intersection during the busiest times. Will someone have to die in order for PennDot to do something.... five accidents is ridiculous.

yes. PenDOT needs the blood of crash victims and the tears of their family members to awaked from their ancient slumber and conjur their mighty arsenal of street signs and orange cones.

But. I can't say about this road in particular, but there ares some roads in which you can safely go lik 45 where is says 25. Its fun Very Happy Like all of Quincy.

When I lived there, going through this intersection was the fastest way to get to my church. I always took the long way instead.

I think another insection that is bad is Turkey foot AKA Social Island, Jack Road and warm Spring Road (RT 995). In a car you can not see coming from Jack Road to cross Warm Spring Road. Higher vechicles can see but not everyone has a gas guzzler.

There has been accidents there but I don't think anyone has died. It is sad that Penn dott wants 5 deaths before naything can be done.

yes, we lived at ft. mccord for many years and used that intersection. i had an accident there. the least is they could put up a timer light, to blink caution at non-busy times and during core busy hours, have it change colors. im' going to check into the penn dot 5 deaths before they will do anything. that is unacceptable.

My husband and I are fairly new to this area and are scared to death to go that way. This intersection is a disaster waiting to happen! I was nearly hit twice since we relocated here in Dec 2007. We came to Chambersburg from Fl due to my husband's military assignment. We live on Eton Ct. I don't know how to get to Third street without going this way. I'll tell ya, you better know Jesus coming through there! Shocked

Can't they just make it a four-way stop?

traffic studies on that intersection said it was a "2 second" decision making point...that is you roughly had 2 seconds to decide to "gas it" and turn onto edenville....it's notoriously bad. always has been.

i grew up in the bowman heights quandrant of that intersection and most of us keep going, turn onto gabler rd. and catch edenville that way.

it's the n00bs on edenville that are trying to turn left against all that that make it even worse. i always wanna smack em sidewise....

My husband calls it hope and pray hill. Hope you don't see a car coming and if you do pray it doesn't hit you!
