Ok I am tired of driving to Harrisburg or Maryland to see a movie, for the love of God can we not get a movie complex here in Shipp? It does not need to be a 16 screen complex but a nice 4-6 screens with stadium seating, a food bar that has maybe a Uno's, Starbucks, and Ben & Jerrys in it. Am I asking too much?

This is what we need now more than anything; a modern, full size, surround sound, stadium-seating movie theater. It's not fair that an area with a population as as this one is stuck with the filthbag Carmike theater at the mall.

Of course, that theater is packed every weekend with teenagers unwilling to take a short trip to actually enjoy their movie experience... why improve if people will just go see movies there anyway?

I guess theaters are expensive, and people in Chambersburg tend to have little appreciation for fancy new stuff. But with Franklin County's "fifth fastest growing county" status, and the University, you'd think some developer would hop on that.

Oh, but wouldn't someone whine about losing farmland?

i vote:

tear the mall down and start again.

it's obsolete anyway.

and how nice would a barnes & noble be out on the empty mall lots. oh i know! put another bank in.

cuz we don't have enough of them (rolls eyes)

They could build it at the Weis location in Shippensburg, When I was a kid we had one in Shipp called College Cinema, it was only one screen.
