No, they just moved to a bigger building in town (not sure where though). |

OK small scare there.... did they ever put anything in where the old Cressler's grocery store was? |

I've now sampled wings all over town and I can say, without a doubt, the best ones can be found at Norland Pub. They've been perfect on several occasions. They're big, a bit crispy on the outside, moist and perfectly cooked inside. I like the gold rush flavor... by the way, the gold rush or similar named flavors are pretty popular around here. It seems to consist mostly of a ranch/hot sauce mix, but some place may add some other stuff.
The Cottage devil wings probably have the best spice/taste ratio, but they notoriously overcook their undersized wings over and over.
But, speaking of the Pub... I really dislike that place. There's so much potential there, but I have to say I've completely grown out of places like that. The bar area isn't any better than Dilly's... old and a bit gross. Their Friday night "club" theme is a joke. But the deck is great! You know what isn't great? No table service.
I mean, the girls will bring you food, and beer if you get food... but otherwise you have to go to the bar if you want a drink?? What is this, a college dive bar are a classy neighborhood place? The Pub can't make up its mind. And I hate it because it has potential. That deck they built is awesome, but 1.) you can't get any of the beer outside you can get inside unless you go get it, 2.) Everything is served in plastic, like we're a bunch of six year olds, and 3.) See above about waitresses literally not being allowed to cocktail.
They have pretty good bar food and a nice beer selection; and an absolute joke of a "dining room-slash-dance floor." Altogether it's just a hick dive with a slightly better clientele than Razzle's.
Yeah, I'm harsh; hope you read this Pube owners. Potential is there; quality is not. I have my gripes with The Cottage and Relax, but the Norland Pub, by far, has the most untapped potential. |

I will testify to the fact that Coppy is harsh, but fair. He speaks truth Pub owners (it was kinda cold for him to call you the Pube tho' that is the way you shall be heading if you don't straighten up!)
Oh and ya'll should totally post the security word to your WiFi connection!

I agree with pretty much everything that's been said about the Pub. I have actually requested to have a glass instead of the plastic cups on the deck and they gave me one. Also, there has been an occassion or two when it wasn't too busy outside and I asked for a beer they didn't have outside and they actually went in and got it for me. Mind you, they probably wouldn't do that if it had been busy, and they seem to be really busy a lot now that the deck is open.
One thing that drives me nuts though is the fact that they no longer have any live music there. They used to have bands come in on the weekend and they would also have an open mic night. I guess the owners don't want to pay anyone to come in and play anymore. Doesn't help that the dining room is closed off in the evenings either as it leaves no where for a band to play.
And that's not the first time I've heard the Pub called the "Pube" |

Come up to Carlisle and try the wings at the North Hanover Grill. Especially the hot/garlic. You BETTER like garlic if you order these. YUM.
And the beer menu is pretty extensive too. |

I've always meant to go to North Hanover Grill, but I always get sucked into Market Cross... I could go for a good wing though and I'm due for a trip to Carlisle.
Thanks for the rec! Oh, and I adore garlic |

That's easy to remedy...park closer to the Square!! And there aren't any more car shows til October, so you're okay there. |

I'm also not a big Knute's fan; they have loads of potential but just miss the mark on most of their food. |
I was there yesterday and the food I received was not worth what they charged. I liked it better as The Legion _________________ Read My Blog

| I hate to go into Dillys after dark unless I feel like getting into a fight. However, I have to say I love their wings. Norland Pub is right up there as well. Only problem with most bars in town is that you have to keep you head down and not look around for fear of someone wanting to test their manhood by starting a fight. |

Especially if you don't wear camo
Welcome to the Soapbox gopoperative... I'm glad you're enjoying the Cuisine section (or as I like to call it, "Coppy's Domain"). I truly think restaurants have changed some of their business decisions based on me being an outspoken jerk... I might put down some of your favorite places, but please, don't take it personal... I just want a decent meal that's independently operated.
I've found myself hitting The Cottage now for wings consistently (Thursday is their wing night). Of all the bars with good wings, Cottage is definitely the cleanest and most comfortable. |
