PO had a blurb in Sunday's paper that the "For Better or For Worse" comic strip had been discontinued because the author was no longer writing it. NOT TRUE! The author is starting over with the story of the Patterson family, retelling it with some added details and new strips. She explains it all here: http://www.fborfw.com/news/003373.php .

Gee willickers, Mr. Wilson, if the PO doesn't even tell the truth regarding a simple comic strip, what can I believe? I know it is not a big deal about a comic strip, but it bothers me that PO published information that was not true that was so easy to double-check. In fact, you can go the comics section under the Entertainment link on the home page and see today's FBOFW.

I follow that comic religously. I was saddened to see the comic come to an end. I wanted to see Elizabeth and Anthony have a baby and watch what happens between Francie and the new baby. I wanted to see April become the Veterinarian she so craved to be. I actually wanted to see what happened when Grampa Jim died.

But, her story is continuing (sort of) in a replay mode. It is strange to watch the young Elly and John with their kids again. Although as she wisely does, we were forewarned. Before Elizabeth's wedding there were many "flashback's". This was the artist's (Lynn Johnston) way telling us something was up. She did this back in 1988 when the character Elly went to she Dr. Fundus when she wasn't feeling very well. ("Fundus" hinted to a pregnancy.)

I get my dose of "For Better or Worse" in my e-mail box daily. But I think that the paper should reconsider carrying it. Lynn Johnston has great human stories to tell. Even though it is a cartoon strip.
