Occasionally I get a tranquil pasture type scene advertising Travian, which I played for, like, a week before returning to Neopets, which has been abandoned for the gorey bloodlust that is WarCraft

yahoo mail has some real winners too.
at my last job, i was split between print and online.....so my job in the online dept was to make those flash ads...BUT...i hold myself to high design standards and would never EVER make annoying blinking crap like that.

| Well, the PO should know better than to allow those annoying, flashing banner ads anyway. That's very 1998 of them and most websites know that sort of things actually does a better job of driving people away from their site rather than enticing them to click on it. |

where i worked last i had to make flash ads and one of the last campaigns was for "peel ads"
OH EMMM GEEEE
those are SOOOO annoying
and if you had a small monitor, the peel ad would cover 1/2 of the page.
talk about annoying.
flash when done right is "ok"......misuse of it can lead to ppl avoiding your site
btw....my ad at the top now goes "DING"
/sigh.
must look into the blockers |
