You have to get a direct link to the image within the IMG tags; that is, right click on the image you want to post and select "Copy image location" (or whatever Internet Explorer says; I'm a Firefoxer). Paste that link, which should end in .img, .jpg, .gif or the like, and it will work.
HTML links only work in the URL tag. |

No it's actually the fact that all some of my magazines arrive with parts torn out (it's always complete sections), the mail that looks like it may contain checks are always either completely open or halfway open and sometimes I don't receive my mail at all!!! (2 ways: somedays no mail and others delivered both in the a.m. and in the p.m. AND things I know were sent to me never show up >catalogs, thick envelopes etc) _________________ Nevermind. |

Okay this is a cat thread and I would like advice from cat owners...please?
I am not an experienced cat owner. I have always had dogs. I know dogs, I'm no trainer, but in general, I know why dogs act certain ways. I know what to alter in order to change certain behaviors. And if I don't know, I know where to look or who to ask, to find out. Dogs are easy.
I have three cats; one neutered, declawed, tiger adopted in 2004 who thinks he owned the house the minute he left his carrier and two spayed females adopted this past summer. One of the girls has diluted colors and does not like to be held or bothered or touched unless it's with the tips of your fingers as you reach your farthest, the other is a long haired tortoise shell who is super sweet. Unbelievably sweet. Never the aggressor (the boy was our bully and still has his moments) She has to be with you, tries to sit with you, on your shoulder, on your arm, on your chest, in your lap at all times (think: trying to push the bathroom door open )
After all that, here's the problem: Girl-Cat (so far that's the only name that comes to mind---gimme a break! CVAS was calling her Red Robin.) the long haired...I'm pretty sure she's rotting on the inside.
I have changed litter brands. I've researched online. I've read books. I asked the vet and they just laughed. This is not a laughing matter! This is foul! That little 7 pound furball can clear three rooms with one BM! Even the dogs run. And sometimes the smell follows her. And being long-haired she can have...hygiene issues.
I feel really bad running from her. When she tries to jump up on me I grab her mid-air now and either have to perform an inspection or just put her back down. She really is a sweetheart.
After ya'll stop laughing at me, I would appreciate any advice you may have to offer.
Thank you in advance. _________________ Nevermind. |

Some cats just don't know the rules.
Use the litter box & cover up your work.
As an owner of numerous cats, I can say that I have had a cat now from kitten to 14 years & I can't touch her. She comes in & out (yes we have an open cat door policy) as she pleases. To put on tick stuff is quite the ordeal.
We have another cat that will absolutely not use the litter box unless it is clean & the correct brand of litter.
Living in the country without any close neighbor or road, our cats seem to do OK. They seem to know that skunks are best avoided.
I assume that with all the dangers listed that onewhoknows has no children - if they do, call the police because they are trapped in their house and can never leave. |

Chel,
Have you considered a change of diet for the cat? It might be possible that the food the cat is eating may be causing the problem. Your Vet or a good pet store might be able to give you suggestions. In regard to the hygiene issues, a single swipe with clippers down the backside will cure that. If you’re squeamish a groomer can take care of it for you. _________________ onewhoknows

I will definitely start making more calls, hopefully, the vet's office won't laugh this time. The only difficulty might be keeping her separate while eating (our male is something of a pig and we had to restrict his diet).
As for the clippers...yeah, I'm definitely going to have to get someone else to do that. I can deal with dead stuff or even people stuff, but cute little squirming animals? She may be a girl, but I still wouldn't want to cut any little bits.
Thank you SO much, onewhoknows! You may have saved the nostrils of our household, but you've certainly gained our gratitude! _________________ Nevermind. |

And to think I was upset, because I didn't know cat rules and they don't even follow them. *$#@ felines!

I am much more protective of my animals than my child, something to do with them being like 2 year olds who never grow up, domestication, unconditional love and all that.
Oh,add to that they don't make mile long Xmas lists and will never expect me to let them drive. _________________ Nevermind. |

Chel,
With all due respect to the Veterinary profession, they should have made the recommendation to change the diet. You can have all your cats on the same diet (unless there is one cat that needs something else) and "if" you are feeding can food that can cause the problem. In addition you may consider a second Vet opinion. Laughing about the problem, in my judgment, was not professional at all. _________________ onewhoknows

OneW.K. ( I hope you don't mind the abbreviation, I'm lazy -->even though it took longer to type this than your name...)
All my furballs are on dry food. They might get canned food 3 to 6 times a year as a treat. Girl-cat has this odd habit of taking a few morsels of food out of her dish, dropping them on the floor and then eating it--If I gave her canned food I would've probably gone mad by now cleaning up after her.
I didn't take offense to the vet and assistants, primarily because everybody laughs at me >sniff< However, you are quite right.
Girl-cat thanks you for saving her from an air freshener enema and once again, I thank you, as well. _________________ Nevermind. |
