Chuck Norris is currently suing NBC, claiming Law and Order are trademarked names for his left and right legs.

I don't buy Hillary's experience. She moved to NY to get elected to the Senate. Been in the Senate about 6 years. I am sure she was active in the Clinton years but, because of that, there is a lot of baggage. Baggage that is going hurt when it comes down to working with Republicans in Congress. Hillary claims she can get change done. I think she will bring gridlock.

if we use a busness analogy, I believe that a true leader inspires those around to get the job done. I managed a very successful company not because I knew about making the product or business knowledge, because I (somehow) got people to work hard for the business. We had a team effort.

I think Obama can do that. I don't think Hillary can.

The saddest part, by the time April 22nd comes around, it will probably be over. Sadder yet, as a Republican, I can't vote for Obama & will need to pick from the Republican hoard.

By the way, I am still waiting for Jeb Bush to jump in to claim his legacy.

Anyone else have kid-dohs?
I'm currently watching Nickelodeon (sp?) They are are airing "Nick News Special Edition: The Kid's Primary" It's pretty cool that they're introducing children to politics in such a friendly way.

Yes, I realize it's midnight, but I set tivo up to record it for my monkey and since I don't feel like getting up to find the remote for changing video input, I'm watching it too! (Give me a break, I'm a lazy American! Wink )

Chris Matthews is explaining the system very well...not ranting at all!
Ooo and the host is wearing some cute Converses!

They're talking to kids about who they support and why: GOPpies first (the kid supporting Guiliani sounds like he's reading off his website @__@)
WOW these kids are so obviously wrong! (Only sorta joking)

The way some of these kids are talking it's pretty obvious they are mimicing their parents, it makes me kind of glad my kid isn't supporting my preferred candidate, even if he isn't exactly sure why he likes Obama. I don't want to unintentionally brainwash him.

I suggest we all watch this (it looks as though it will be re-aired a few times). Pretend you're doing it for the children! Wink

website: Nick has set-up the first kid's presidential primary, the goal being to beat adult voter turnout while teaching them a few things. Very Cool.

Oh fine! Don't learn about politics from Nickelodeon!!
It was a good program!

So with Thompson probably conceding in the next few days and I'm just going to go ahead and discount Giuliani...Romney is floundering.

This could be a McCain Huckabee face off.
Honestly, I liked McCain in 2000, but he has left us independents in the dust, saying "Independents don't vote in primaries..." well fine then, but independents also don't typically fall for the 180 politicians pull after the nominations.
Huckabee is scary tho' Great guy, good sense of humor, seems nice enough, but when you get to personal beliefs...he freaks me out.
I don't want somebody who wants to put the government in our bedrooms and tell us what we can and cannot do in our personal lives.

Oh and the whining about how Thompson and McCain ganged up on him after his supporters called McCain a traitor and a coward?!! Hisssssssss

So what ch'all think?

Huckabee is a nut job, when it comes to his religious beliefs crossing over into his political principles.

If it HAD to be a Republican winning the presidency - and I pray it's not - to me, McCain or Guliani would be the least offensive.

They're saying Huckabee lost in South Carolina, of all evangelical havens, because of his comments on how he's willing to change the constitution to "conform to God's law."

He mentioned in subsequent interviews that what he really meant was to amend the constitution to prohibit abortion and gay marriage. But I'm sorry, I don't care how you feel about any of that; I don't support any amendment to our constitution that actually LIMITS the rights of certain people, regardless of how much you disagree with those rights. I can understand candidates calling for more power to states to enforce such things, but I can't call anyone so willing to amend the constitution anything but unAmerican.

Or bonkos. Can I call Huckabee bonkos? Because he pretty much is at this point.

Bonkos seems pretty accurate if tame.

I was really hoping Colbert would cut up the Huckabee/Colbert 08 bumper sticker tonight.

Sometimes the cartoonists hit the nail right on the head. It's so discouraging to see what our system has become.

Don't be sad, Mouse. Not yet, anyway. I believe we're still supposed to be in the "vocal open-minded viewer that teeters on the brink of disgust, anger, frustration and hope simultaneously" stage. Sadness and horror are scheduled for the fall. Very Happy

I won't be obnoxious for the next few days if you keep posting...promise. Very Happy

Yeah, I haven't felt much like posting since the PO yanked the immigration thread. Seems like other threads disappeared too. What's the point of engaging in discussion if they'll just arbitrarily wipe it all out with no explanation. I guess "ownership" trumps community- our collective contribution and investment here doesn't mean much since we don't "own" the site.

Nope, the other one. It was under the "Chambersburg" topic and referenced illegal workers in town.

Ah, I guess I missed that one. Strange, I can't imagine why a thread about allegedly illegal immigrants in town might have been deleted.

In all fairness, that Chambersburg thread got way out of hand. No matter how valid people's points were, you had people posting without reading any of it and saying the same, inflammatory, uninformed, ignorant comments over and over and over. It was out of hand, although they should have simply locked it so everyone could read it and realize how idiotic some of the posts were.
