Mike's Mountain Shadow Rest aka The Greasy Spoon in Blue Ridge Summit, PA
I have also always been a big fan of the Parlor House in Waynesboro, PA. |

You guys are all naming the same exact restaurant: Select, Goody's, Chris' Country Kitchen, 30 West, Chambersburg Travel Lodge (really??), Greenvillage "Diner," and then, not to leave out the other, nearly identical restaurants, we have Capital Restaurant, Oak Forest, Stoner's, Texas Lunch (to a degree), Johnnie's Restaurant, etc, etc.
So how can we decide who has the best breakfast when, in my humble opinion, all of the aforementioned establishments all serve pretty much the same thing (and none are open on Sundays)?
I've preached all this before of course, so pardon my dead horse beating. |

Not really a 'go out to eat' breakfast person. I make the best quick grits in town
I've eaten at Chris's and the value was impressive. If we're talking about within a 30 minute drive then I would choose IHOP. (They aren't in Franklin County, but as Coppy has already said, you really cannot get much variety within the Co.) Panera has some good stuff too.
I'm still waiting for Coppy to open a restaurant so I can get some decent crepes... _________________ Nevermind. |

I make a mean crepe.
I think IHOP is a little overpriced. For me, when I go out to breakfast, I usually get eggs benedict or something similarly difficult or tedious to make at home (poaching eggs is a pain in the butt). I can make bacon and eggs just the way I like them; with that thick, center-cut bacon and eggs with sour cream and parmigiana reggiano (what can I say, I'm a foodie). And my S-o makes a mean pancake.
I did have a delicious omelet at Texas Lunch one morning, so i will give them that. |
