I talked to a co-worker today who said that Trickling Springs has the former owner of Wolf's Bakery working for them. I noticed at Christmas that Trickling Springs had finally filled in the huge amount of vacant floor space with a lot of cute little decorating/gift items like Wolf's used to carry.

Maybe the former owner of Wolf's will begin to bring some baked goods or has already. Can anyone verify or elaborate?

Trickling Springs Creamery on Route 11, beside Johny's (sp?) Restaurant Supply. I always thought they had a huge area of unused retail floor space, the business manager coming out in me. Wink

Oh; I don't think I'd ever been there. I'm not much of an ice cream eater so I never though to stop in. They have a bakery?

They have more than just ice cream, it's actually a dairy store and carries the original type of milk with the cream plug on top. We get the pure cream at the holidays to make real whipped cream and to use in our coffee and mashed potatoes. Nothing like the milk products sold at Giant. Surprised

They also make sandwiches, hoagies and sell sliced luncheon meats, cheeses. A nice little variety of grocery items without having to walk through a gigantic grocery store to get them.

Oh, I like Trickling Springs Creamery!

I have only been in twice, but it was quite lovely.

I was happy (and surprised) to find a small grocery store down here in central Virginia that carries Trickling Springs milk. The display even has a map to their location in Chambersburg and gives the history of it.

I've never stopped in, but have heard good things.

For some reason, Martins and Utz products are relatively popular in Florida. I saw some Martins chips in West Palm Beach and, sure enough, made in Chambersburg, PA.

I wish while on vacation this summer I could of found Martins rolls and chips. Nothing close at North Carolina! Sad

Trickling Springs improvements probably came about because they changed owners. The previous owners were talking about making it a health food 'all natural' type place. Didn't fly. It's had several owners by now.

Is the guy from Wolf's the new owner maybe? I just know the previous owners, but not the new ones.

I think the PO had an article that Martins was building a new facility in the south maybe GA they have always sold well down south and now are buiding closer to the market down there.

Any updates on if the guy who had Wolf's is now the owner of Trickling Springs? That would be great.

I don't know anything about the owners, other than the original ones, who were not business people. They had a good product and concept, but did not know how to interface with the public.

It is good to know that there are new owners.
When they had their open house a few years ago, NOTHING was free... not even the coffee. Everyone was disappointed when they found out that there were no ice cream samples either...

I think their ice cream is very good and I can get addicted to their Chocolate Milk! Since I have to watch my waistline, I add skim milk to it.

The last time I was there, they were using Boar's Head cold cuts, which (in my opinion) is a PLUS. Unfortunatly, I stopped ordering sanwiches because they've messed up my order on several occasions and expected ME to pay for the sandwiches because they can't resell them... If the help would just pay attention to the CHECK MARKS on THEIR pre-printed order sheet, they would not have to try and shove a screwed up order down my throat. On one visit, the deli person put mayo instead of mustard on my sandwich. When I pointed it out to her, she asked if I've ever tried it.. HELLO, I did not order mayo.

I've also had a problem with the cashiers not being able to make correct change. I don't know if they do not know how to count or if they are just not paying attention when they are making change.

THE GOOD NEWS IS:
While walking downtown during the ICE FEST kick off Thursday night, I received a hand out from Sovereign Bank and in the bag, there was a coffee cup along with a coupon for a free coffee from Trickling Springs. My husband's bag had a free ice cream coupon in it....WOOOOOOOOOOO now we'll finally get a free coffee and ice cream that we should have gotten at the open house...

I'll be making my way there soon. I hope they've improved on their breads... they were the run of the mill PA DUTCH the last time I ordered something from there. I like a good crusty Italian or Artisan bread when I order a sandwich... HELLO PANERA!! LOL
