I went to Panera's for bread on Sunday morning. Now you have to know the names of the loaves, they will not go with you to the loaves so you can point at them. After choosing a Focacia with Sea Salt and Ciabata she asked if it was for here or to go. Two loaves of bread for here, please, and a tall glass of water.  |

I wanted to ask what else they had on the shelf, I can say those big words, even with the correct pronunciation. Oh dear, it just occured to me, you aren't the guy who was standing behind her were you?  |

Haha, no probably not, and I didn't mean to be condescending to you... I'm not sure if there are many Panera Bread employees over the age of 16. They most certainly don't know what the different breads are.
Here's my story; when I went, I asked for cream cheese. Now that was a production; you know, since they had several flavors. They were out of regular cream cheese, so when I asked for sundried tomato... wow, I'm not sure if the girl I talked to knew if sundried tomatoes were real things.
But it's new, so what can I say. I'm surprised they knew what a bagel was. I figured I'd have to ask for some "Jewish donuts." |

This wasn't really funny as much as creepy, odd, scary...
Last night a salesperson said (after my 11 year old son tried to discuss presidential politics with him) that the only reason he wanted Clinton or Obama to get elected was so he could see a president be assassinated. He then proudly informed us that he and several other individuals had taken bets on, if they were elected, how many days after inauguration it would be before their untimely end.

I always hate posting twice in a row, so here's the third.
The salesperson's comments taught my son a valuable lesson: People are scary.
He also learned that when someone says something like that, you should immediately end the dialogue, because you will not be able to have a fufilling conversation. There is nothing more to say.
As a parent I wish the lesson could have waited a few years, but I suppose it's best for him to find out now what most of America is made up of. Maybe it will make it easier to keep him out of the military now.

Nice Queen! That's the traditional. My parents actually cheated and would get the salmon flavored cream cheese.
As for chel and the assassination comment; you're probably right that it's good for your son to realize that he's smarter than many adults. I don't think it's good for kids to growing assuming all grown-ups are superior or know what's best. But that's exactly right; you need to know exactly when to end a conversation like that.

THAT is really, really, scary to me. Does that idiot realize that simply saying those things could cause him to become a "person of interest" to the Secret Service?

Just found out DH knows not what lox is like. Now I have to find some...(I am lazy and would prefer to just buy it tyvm)
His Russian co-workers have him eating sprats on toast. I don't know if it was th combination of the warm bread with the cool fleshy texture of the fish but one bite was all I needed...I don't take his compliments on my food seriously anymore.

I'm always at liberty to say,but I'm not sure if it would be wise. (Look at that! I'm thinking before I post for a change! ) I was purchasing a firearm at the time (which narrows down the list of stores it could be) and they have all of my deepest darkest info (like my weight!!  oh yeah, and my social and all that other boring stuff.)
I suppose if you really needed to know I could tell you...as soon as I find out if he is able to pull my paperwork after the fact.

Nope. You're in the clear. FFLs have no discretion in the paperwork process. They're simply the middle man. Assuming you passed PICS and have the firearm in your possession, there's nothing the clerk or dealer can do at this point.
Of course, any store can refuse your business up front for any reason, but once it's done, it's DONE.
I'm assuming this is a 'chain' type dealer, not a private FFL?
