For car repairs (not body work), Strite's Garage in Waynesboro is the best in the area, as far as I'm concerned. They won't rip you off. Very honest, reliable and always up on the latest technology. They are pricey, though.

Example: A few years ago I took my car to the dealer, can't remember what for anymore. They told me I needed to have some big repair done. I took the car to Strite's for their opinion. They called and said there was not a thing wrong with the parts the dealer had mentioned.

When a garage has the perfect opportunity to do work and make some money, and tells you it's not necessary, you know they're honest.

Dickie Selman is still selling cars, WOW!!

And other than him, there are not too many honest ones left.

I agree with Coppy (another WOW) on the research before ya buy. We do the same and the only think ya need the salesman now-a-days is the paperwork!

Know the facts, know the competitive pricing and go loaded for bear makes for better negotiations.

And I have not and would not buy a vehicle from anyone in C-burg. Used to buy 'em all from Frank Hollar at H&H in Ship. Now I shop around, Carlisle, Harrisburg-York areas. And yes, Bobby Rahal is top notch!!

Danny may not be who I was thinking about as far as the Subaru guy, how long has that shop been open? although if "Danny" is who I think he is, he is one of the most honest guys I have ever known, I would trust him. I will have to check that out, maybe a new mechanic. I forgot all about him until you reminded me, thank you.

Mucho years ago, I had a leak in my upstairs bathroom. The plumber guy came out & insulated my toilet tank and redid some fittings - said that was the problem. The leak did stop.

A few months later, the leak returned. I looked behind the tank & there was water leaking from the connection from the waterline to the tank. It looked like the one line was jammed into the other and not threaded properly.

I grabbed a wrench and as I just touched the connection and the pipe popped off & the water was flowing across my floor. I held the pieces together as the threads had been stripped and the water only trickled.

There I was, at home, my wife had gone to town & I was alone with my three year old son. I couldn't get the connection together and if I let go, water would go everywhere.

There as no shut off valve. Cheap &*%$^&*& plumber!.

I tried to get my son to turn on the water in the tub in thought of relieving some pressure & flow but he wouldn't come into the bathroom because there was already a half inch of water already on the floor.

I made an excecutive decision. I would drop the pipe, run, dash down stairs & turn off water to the house. I was quick. I came back upstairs and now there was hot water coming out of the pipe. What was that! Who runs cold & hot water to the toilet tank.

So I did another dash thing & returned to a full inch of water on the floor and by now my three year old in hysterics along with nlearning new words. I joined him as I used towels & sponges to soak up the water & get the mess cleaned up before my wife came back..

So to this day, I have a fear of plumbing jobs.

A great repair shop in Lanes Transmission on RT 30. He takes his time to expalin what is wrong, gives an estimate, and if he will call you if there are any issues or if he has any questions

If you need trasmission work he is the guy to talk to first
