Rock, blues, Motown, psychedelic, metal, jazz, rockabilly, reggae, country (old-school, not crossover) and bluegrass... lots of bluegrass.

I'm all over the map.

Itunes has been a great way to re-connect to a lot of old music. Lots of songs from the 60s and 70s that I totally forgot are now on iTunes. Doesn't matter the genre. It's all there for .99/song. Great deal and nice way to relive the good old days. I'm not sure why anyone would even buy CDs anymore, because you can get exactly what you want on the internet for a mere .99/song. It took me a long time to figure out how to use the Ipod, but now that I have it, I love it.

I love itunes. But they still don't have the license for everything yet. They have the artists hits but not every album. Thats what Im waiting for is the day when you can get and find everything from concerts / rare interviews and bootlegs too.

I did listen to a couple tape cassettes and albums over the weekend.
Johnny Cash live at San Quinton... what a great album

I love LIVE MUSIC. Mostly in the bluegrass , Acoustic, String band Genre. I have been to hundreds of live shows and appreciate each and every one.
I have been to Static X to Classical performances and everything in between. Some of my favorites were Black Crowes in Philly, Ratdog in Florida, Garth Brooks in State College, The boogie Pickers anywhere, The Avett Brothers in West Virginia, Hackensaw boys in Baltimore, Two Gallants and Govt Mule in Brooklyn, Larry Keel in West Virginia ...and too many more to list.

I wouldn't categorize Govt Mule as bluegrass, acoustic or a string band but then, maybe that's not what you were saying.

I love live music too and many moons ago saw a lot of great bands live...Jethro Tull, Yes, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, ELO, Todd Rundgren, George Duke, 3 Dog Night, Alice Cooper, Humble Pie, Alvin Lee, The Clash, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Sly and the Family Stones, J Geils, Rush, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Billy Preston, Deep Purple, Vanilla Fudge, Heart, The Police and...on and on.

After looking over my list, I suppose these acts would be what many would call dinosaur bands. LOL
But, these albums are still mucho fun to listen to.

my two favorite concerts were both seen from the second row, center stage. I have a feeling this is why they're my favorites more than even the artists. They were the White Stripes right after Elephant came out, and Muse when they were touring with The Cure.

I've never been nearly as close, but I've seen Pearl Jam several times, the best was in State College as the last stop of the first leg of their tour. They played close to 4 hours. there was tons of energy, and a lot of fun

Did you ever check out the podcast section? There's some cool stuff to be found there, especially on the NPR sites. And all the podcasts are free!

I agree...up front and center stage. When I saw Yes, it was at the end of their USA promotional tour in 1972 or '73 for the "Fragile" album. BTW, a well recorded and great sounding vinyl.
It was at Shippensburg College (yes it was called that at one time) and we were center stage about 10 rows back.
The 4 players (+ Andreson on lead vocals) in that band sounded like a dozen people! I had never heard anything live like that before or since. Just incredible!! Absolutely my most amazing live concert experience.
No one had really ever heard Yes at that point and not many were there. All the better for the ones that were Wink

I believe it is only a matter of time, and what you wish for is just a short time away.

I like Govt mule too.
I listen to a wide variety of music.
Today:
Motown!! Re-watched the DVD "Standing in the Shadows". The Funk Brothers delivered some very, very special, memorable stuff. Joan Osborne's performance is awesome!
Supertramp's "Crime of the Century"
Some "Best of Poco" and then Little Feat's "Feats Don't Fail Me Now".
Overall, a good music day Very Happy

Bluegrass, hip-hop, jazz, rock, "jambands", live music in general. I'm pretty willing to give just about anything a chance.

I noticed a few of you are into bluegrass. Anyone a fan of Yonder Mountain String Band? They are one of my favorites and put on a great live show.

You don't hear from a lot of Deerhoof fans around here; very weird. I like them.
